Does Injen CAI "ghettoize" car?

I have my CLS for about a month...I think its fast but if the speed gains for the CAI are accurate---(almost .5 sec faster in 0-60) I am considering it. I am concerned about the noise factor...does it make the car sound as loud as the RSX when you get on it? I am not a "boy racer" and I am not looking to impress with a really loud car...I just like the added "oomph" I found the RSX-TypeS to be unacceptably loud for my taste...feedback?

It sure isn't going to decrease the 0-60 time by a half second.

CAI is not for you wait for other mods like the RES.

It's way loud at WOT and It does NOT gain 0.5s in 0-60 that is BS!

And It is NOT ricey.

From what we have seen. The Intake will drop your times about .2 seconds in the quarter. I dont think you will see your times drop by .5 seconds. Thats a huge improvement. Especially for our cars that have no torque.

It definitely doesn't decrease your times that much. I have the Injen and you only really hear it around 5500. Besides that you will only hear a sucking sound when it's cold.

I never saw a dyno of Intake that gives more than 9 HP on the wheels, Where is that Dyno for the Blitz?

Hmmmm....this reminds of another great HP boost product, the Tornado What ever mag said that was either paid off or retarded. There is no short ram that makes more HP than a CAI, no matter what filter it has. I would love to see a dyno for that and the car it's on.

I think it's funny b/c people think the Injen, or any CAI, is so loud. I had a short ram on my CL, and that intake was easily 10x louder then the CAI. You can't hear any intake below 5k RPM, and even over that, the Injen is not that loud. The CAI does add the extra oomph you're looking for, and it seems to be more in the low to mid-range (which, from what I've been reading, is where the Injen adds it). Go for it... you'll love it.... trust me... that sound at Vtec is intoxicating....

hmm

CAI Gives the CLS a 6% gain in acceleration (0-60 from 6.7 to 6.3 seconds), and 4.5% gain in HP (from 198 HP at wheels to 207)

From Chod the wackos FAQ---

So you guys are generally saying this is BS?
If the increase is .2 on the quarter its not worth it for me...
What exactly is a RES and when will it be available?

Get the intake. Like Juniorbean said, the sound is intoxicating. I was concerned just like you about the noise level. But believe me you won't be sorry

Think those were Xephyr's numbers...not sure or not. But I believe Xephyr had other "mystery mods" too...

Then again I could totally be off base and wrong.
