Just wondering. It seems that we all either have a 2001 or a 2003 CL.. But not many 2002's...

Does anyone know how many were produced each year? Seems that 2001 had the most sales and then 2003.

 

I think they only made 2002's for like 4-5 months.

000055 was the last few digits of the VIN.

 

Didn't sell that many 02s. Most bought the 01 who wanted it, and people like me held on for a shifter, and got it in 03.

I've got an '03.

I think since the '03's came out so early there probably weren't too many '02's made. I remember the '03's coming out in late June '02, b/c I stopped at a local dealership to check out the RSX-S, and sitting their was a red '03 six-speed. Obviously, I drove both. But up until then, I had never had a car with a manual tranny, so while driving the CL-S6, I didn't fully realize what the car could do and how awesome it really is. I walked away saying "That CL was nice, but not worth $32.5K.

A year and a half later, after buying an '00 Accord 5spd, I traded the accord for my '03 CL-S auto (Auto, so that my wife can drive it). It was sweet going from 150 HP in the Accord to 260 in the CL-S. The only downside was giving up the manual.

 

how many # are designated for the car# at the end of the vin on a honda? the last 6?

 

 

03's came out in March of 2002, so I wouldn't have expected too many 2002's. I saw a couple on a lot when I looked at other cars.

 

I had an 02. Had it for a year then traded it for a 03 6 speed.

 

I've got an '02 last 4 vin #'s 4650 if that means anything?
