Do you guys still get “FLASHED” ???

I’m speaking of the HIGH BEAM flash because somebody thinks our Xenon low beams are on HIGH.
They feel they need to remind us of our “mistake” by flashing the brights.

I don’t know if maybe my rear springs are settling or something, but it’s happening a lot lately.
I thought the general public was finally getting used to seeing BLUE lights on the road, but I guess not.

I usually get flashed on one of the roads that lead to my house. It's a long straight country road that people use highbeams on. I usually drive down the road w/ a finger on the highbeam stalk to flash 'em back if they flash me first

Re: Do you guys still get “FLASHED” ???

I get flashed alot and I have comtechs. My front end is lower than the rear, so its pointing down more. I just hit my highbeams at them and blind the shit out of them. Make them stop flashing.

if your getting flashed your lights are too high which is not good for you.

lower them.

you WILL have better visibility if their properly aligned rather then focusing all the light into the air.

What I usually do on the backcountry roads by my house is keep the HIGHS on even if I see another car coming around a curve.
I keep them on until I can see their headlights for a split second.
That way they can SEE the transition and know I’ve clicked down.

I’ve even been flashed when following another car.
After the oncoming car passes the guy in front of me he BLASTS me for a second.

Maybe I DO need an adjustment.
I adjusted them a few days after I got the springs installed last April, but I haven’t touched them since.

I get this a lot. Some idiot usually flashes me almost every couple of days to "remind me" that they are indeed an idiot. I've had the same problem just as much before I put springs on. But you know what's weird... when I DO leave the high beams on, no one ever flashes me.

Now it's time to go wash my car.

Shawn S...you do live out in the sticks. Since there are probably minimal or no street lights and it's so much darker out there than in the city, folks are probably not used to the HIDs. I don't know if readjusting will help your case.

I haven't been getting flashed because my headlights have been covered in a layer of salt. No good!

Strange. I never got flashed ever in the 2 years I had my car. I guess because I do most of my driving in NYC or Fairfield County CT, which has plenty of HID's around, and most of the roads have street lights

I can count on one hand the number of times its happened but both have been near my home. Each time, too, its been women drivers in POS cars that have more rust on them than paint.

I think it has to do with people who have never seen the zenon headlights before (DOH!).

I also still get, "Sir, you left your lights on" when I park the car at night. Doesn't almost every car come with the auto-off lights today?

When we first bought our '01 CL-S, I took it for a drive in the winter (8 hour road trip at night). Shit, I got flashed more times than I could count. Those Xenons are bright. I just had my hand constantly on the dimmer so I could "correct" them.

I have PIAA 100W Extreme High Beams and 55W PIAA Extreme White Low Beams in my '85 BMW (remember this is before they figured out how to turn the low beam off when the high beam came on so essentially I'm running with all 4 headlamps - round variety). Needless to say when I get flashed while driving that car I can (usually don't because of the danger of blinding the other driver) turn night time into daytime . In the event there truly is a moron I do a quick flash of the brights and you can "sense" that they are scrambling trying to turn the high-beams off

I like to drive my car ghetto style....6" of tire gap in the front...tucking rim in the back...so I get flashed about every 10 mins.

never get flashed... There are a lot of Bmmers and Acuras around and a lot Volvos so no problem with Xenons.. I can figure out a BMW X5 from an Acura just because of the light...

And it's beyond me why the MDX does not have Xenon... seems fucked up.... or is expensive to have auto-leveling Xenon for the $40k MDX?!!!

It's only happened twice...

Once was the other day when I was going up a hill (so my beams were angled up) and a SUV on a flatter area of the road about 100 meters away decided to flip his brights on and keep them on me until he passed.

And the other time, I was heading home from work a little later than usual and there weren't many people on the freeway. I passed a subaru who was traveling in the middle lane (me in the left lane). As soon as I was past him, he swerves his car over into the left lane (remember we are the only two cars around at this point) behind me and flips his brights on. So I moved over, and he passes and moves back over into the middle lane in front of me. I was about 15 seconds from my exit, so I returned the favor. I flipped my brights on his ass and took my exit.

I get hi-beamed at least 2-3 times a day. I don't bother returning the favor with my hi's anymore as it prolly iratates the other driver even more when I do this!
