do cl's have an external transmission filter? cause if so I would like to check and see how bad it looks since I am throwing TQ converter CODE...

just found ur massive thread.. Good info.

I caled he guy who's gonna be doing the tranny build and he said he knew he needed to replace that and clutch packs etc. So things are looking good.

And he's a liscenced Comptech DEALER... BALLIN..

So i'm getting the trans cooler with that build as well.

 

the external filter is the secondary (or first) filter. we have a main one inside the trans. only way to change it is to take apart the trans.

I posted that years ago on a few threads, thats when I had my 2nd tranny with oil-jet..No more jet kit 4 me!

 

bc the jet kit is inside the transmissions, thats only on the new versions.

 

There is not jet kit in the new transes the passages are larger..All the jetkit did was dump half the fluid on top of the trans throught the ATF fill hole, so instead of the fluid being picked up from the bottom by the gears and stuff it is picked up from the bottom and dumped in from on top!

 

^^ i would have to agree. considering the fact I have an 01 cl-s made in 2000 with original trans. So my guess is acura took it in and added the jet kit due to the likelihood of tranny failure so it's defs only on the old trans.

Not saying you couldn't do it to the newer ones, it couldn't hurt i don't think
