Do they always.....

When you get your back window tinted, do the tinters always not tint the area where the brake light is, or can you get that tinted, if so does, anyone have any pics with it tinted...

Night Time Defogger Distortion

At night you may notice that the light from headlights will reflect off of the defogger lines. This is caused by the film having to bend slightly around the raised defogger line, it varies from car to car, and there is nothing that can be done about it.

i got this off of: http://www.tintdude.com/care.html

Does anybody else get this reflection?? Cuz I have it on mine and I can't stand it!!! I didn't have it on my previous car and I don't remember the distortion being there before I tinted it so I was just curious. Thanks for letting me know!!

There's my car with the third brake light and top dots tinted. If the tinter says he can't tint the third brake light then go somewere else.

I was told that on certain cars, esp. Honda's and Acura's, when you tint the rear windshield, the lights off the cars behind you will reflect off the defroster lines and you can't do anything about it. So I was wondering if anybody else has this at night?? Thanks

how do they cover the brake light? Do they have to remove the rear shelf? or is there another way arond it?

Also, how do they tint the dots up on top? Wouldnt it trap air in between the glass and tint therefore looking like crap?

Please let me know, looking to tint my car next weekend.

thanks

Experinced tinters don't have to remove the rear deck to tint that area. They simply slide the tint between the window and the light, then my guy used a peice of thin plastic to slide down in there and smooth it out.

My guy did the dots the same as the rest of the window except he really concentrated the use of his heat gun and sqeegie(sp?) on the dots and I haven't had any problems yet.

They take the rear shelf out and tint the whole back window.

i had my tint redone. first time they didn't tint around the brakelight...nobody i checked with could do it. when i had it redone, i removed the back deck and they tinted the whole thing.

Yes I have the defroster reflection but it doesn't really bother me that much .. kinda makes me feel like I need to go get new contacts but I get over it

and when I had my car tinted .. so that the tinter didnt give me any shit, I brought the car to him without a back seat. this way he doesnt ruin my leather, and its easier for him to do a good job. I had him do over the 3rd brake light and it is legal because I have a 3rd light on my spoiler. and he did the dot matrix at the top, some spots it stuck and some it didnt .. I guess it could've been better, but it could've been alot worse too .. its just white in some areas.
