Do Red Light Photo tickets work at night?
Do Red Light Photo tickets work at night?
Well, after getting one of these $50 annoyances already, I've learned my lesson. A maxima got snapped that tried to race me on the way to work today.
Now, do these things work at night, or just during the day time?

Some do and some don't...
If you have a radar detector (like a V1) turn off any logic mode -- let it detect everything.
In my area -- they turn off the detectors on some intersections after a given time -- the street lighting is terrible and I've noticed this behavior in West Hollywood.
In Los Angeles, most of the traffic intersections in Los Angeles City stay ON.
Sorry, have NOT tested all of them, but some are on and others are off -- a radar detector will let you see if the "units" are on or not if you do a slow drive by...

How about those license plate covers you put over the license plate that, instead of showing your license plate #, it shows a "Welcome to the bahamas"-type thing with pics of trees and whatnot?
Do those things work?

Damaged,
I don't know about Chicago but we have a few of them up here in Milwaukee. Basically they are a camera/radar detector setup that snaps a picture when it detects motion where it shouldn't be (aka running a red light). They then send you the picture with a nice ticket saying pay us now, you f'd up.
Supposedly though some people are trying to get them made illegal. So the rumour I heard goes was a Dr. got photographed running a light and the picture was sent to his house. His wife opened it up and needless to say found out about her husband's mistress. He is supposedly sueing the State/County.....don't know if this is true but I could see if happening.
