do i still need to get an oil change now?

well ive only went 1.5k miles from the last time i changed the oil w/ fully synthetic oil(mobil 1) and this was dons 3 mos ago.

so should i change the oil bcoz its been 3 mos even though ive only used about 1-1.5k miles? i sually change the oil when i hit 4k-5kmiles, but since i have 2 other cars and take the subway often now, the cl doesnt get driven much.

thanks in advance for any feedback.

If your using synthetic there's no reason to change it more then 2 times a year.

if you figure syn oil is changed 5K-7.5K and you change it 2x that = 10K-15K.
right about par for miles per year. so 2x a year does not sound to far off. as for needing to oil change....i wouldn't . you could alway check the quality with the dipstick

That oil is practically new. Don't need to change it. The amount you drive, you could get away from changing your oil every year....and it'll probably still look clean....although I would drive the car long distances every so often to burn off the contaminates in the oil caused by the short runs.

The owners manual & repair manual say every 7K or so miles(don't remember exact) That's with regular oil. If you go to synthetic,(which is better & longer lasting) why would you change it at less mileage?

Oil is such a scam now days. The oils out there are so good now there's just no need to change it as often. All this 3K mile BS is old wives tails that used to be true years & years ago, but are not needed in today's world with newer cars.

If Honda recommends change intervals at 7500 miles on dino, why change it more often if you're using synthetic? Makes no sense to me, but hey...for some people peace of mind is everything regardless of how much money they're throwing away

I believe that is also the "normal" service schedule, they typically cut the mileage number in half for "severe conditions".

200k miles on the motor at 8k dino changes for the first 100k then switch to syn and went to 15k intervals for the next 100k. Never burned a drop. (and that was severe driving)

What you are actually doing is changing your money into someone else's money.
