Do I need to replace this quickly???

Found out this morning that my right rear tire is missing a cap. You know those little things that you remove to pump air into your tire. I don't know how it came loose and do not believe it's any act of vandalism since others remain fine. I just drove to work (roughly 18 miles) and did not notice any air loss in that tire but kinda concerned to how quickly I need to replace one. I may stop by body shop to see if they have any laying around. Anyone with this kind of experience??

You mean the valve cap? That has nothing to do with holding air in. It's to keep dirt and crap out of the valve.

Don't spend the $$ on those untill you know someone isn't going to steal them. I went through 4 sets & just gave up.

yeah valve cap... I mean I notice that there is no air coming out unless you were to push that in kinda like when you are measuring its pressure. but I was just concerned... shoud I try places like pepboys or something or u think i would be able to get a set at dealer or just regular body shop

You can just get them at Pepboys, or maybe at a gas station that has a convenience store. Really not that big of a deal though. I wouldn't go out of my way if I were you. Hell, if it makes you feel better, swipe the one off your spare for a day or 2.

Are you sure? If i were you I would immediately check the 3 others before you drive ANYWHERE. If you are unsure I recommend going to the acura dealership to let a service tech take a look at them. While your there you can have Acura special order you a valve cap.

Dude, just go to Kauffman. They'll give you a valve-stem cap for free. You only need one, right?

Well, in theory, if you don't have the cap in place; a piece of debris could get stuck in the valve and keep it open, and that would suck.

I'm pretty sure with all the insight mrsteve, scalbert, niteqwill, smitty, and typeR (just to name a few) have provided on this forum, the knowledge of 2nd gen > 1st gen.

but then again I'm completely biased.

If you're missing a valve stem cap, just stop by any gas station with an air pump and look around on the ground. You wouldn't believe how many people put air in their tires and forget to put the cap back on. (Am I a cheap @$*%# or what?!)
