Without them, the light beam wont project or *spread* as far as they would, hence the term "diffuse."
So when you put on your blinkers with the "raw look" someone from your blind spot may not be able to see that your blinkers are on, perhaps. Whereas with diffusers, the light from the orange blinkers are spread out more and you will be more easily seen.

APC has the chrome dipped amber ones. This is what I have on my car. You can pick them up at Pepboys.
I also installed mines today. But I guess the TL lights curved too much. The diffusers actually popped itself out of the tab. We tried another method on the other light, but it also popped out. ugh...

i get the feeling there's room for the 18 watt bulbs to go in there...i'll have to experiment with it a little...only problem with that is there's even less space than in the road lamps for heat to escape to avoid burning...so we'll see
wanna personally thank Lou and Titan19 for helpin out...if i was doin it alone, it definitely wouldn't have gone so smoothly
BTW, Lou and Titan ran off afterwards to install Lou's headers and CT upperstrut bar...wonder how that went
Lou brought his Brembo's over...heavy fockers

Scooter once you get the Polargs Visuals in white and I do think you should take out the blue high beams and see how it looks with the white ones. Overall the pictures doesn't do it justice in person the headlight looks chandelier type effect to them. The diffuser are exact replicas of the stock diffuser and the car looks like it came with them given the car an updated stock appearance. Scooter are you gonna help me with mine
oh and by the way once scooter gets his Pzero neros and Gt1s on and a nice Zaino job.......that will be one hott and fast CL-S
oh and IMHO get the painted grill trim cause once you put the gT1s the car will have a sportier look and that chrome has no place in a car like that

I would disagree with this statement because the main illuminated turning indicator is above the compartment that this diffuser covers. Therefore I don't see how the diffiser helps, atleast on a safty stance.
