Did you ever notice on your key fob...

I'm sitting here at work staring at my key fob because I'm not motivated to do anything. :o So I started pushing the buttons (I'm at least a mile from my car so I know it won't do anything) and i noticed something weird.

If you push the unlock and lock buttons the little red light on the key fob glows. But if you press the trunk and panic button the little red light does not glow. Pretty weird huh?

MODERATORS: please post in this in the "Extremely Useful Topics" category as I'm sure a lot of newbies will need to know this. Thanks.

If you press the lock and unlock buttons, you activate the "silent" locking feature... meaning no chirp when you lock/arm the car. I know that the stock alarm requires two pushes of the lock button to get the little blip... but if you have an Acura installed upgraded alarm and you press those two buttons you can lock/arm the car w/o the chirp....

The trunk and panic button together do not do anything.. hense the lack of the LED glow.

Oh, and what mistacanyon said is true too

The back of my key fob says:
PUSH [UNLOCK image] AND [LOCK image] AT THE SAME TIME TO LINK/UNLINK MEMORY SEAT.
doesn't say anything about blinking LEDs.

BTW: This post was meant as an extension of my boredom to this wonderful community.

For the trunk and panic button you have to hold it down for 3 seconds before it sends the signal, prevents you from setting the car in panic mode by accident.

Virtually every keyfob I've ever seen has had the little blinking led on it. I don't think this is really that spectacular of information for newbies.
