Did anyone get new shocks?

Has anyone changed their shocks as well, when they changed their springs? How is the ride then? And did it really help arond the turns? I am thinking about doing it, but I don't want to have that really stiff suspension like in my type R

I have the koni shocks...I have them turned up to almost full stiff...the ride is not harsh and the car corners like a real sports car....I'd reccomend them to anyone who drives spiritedly

Well, thanks a lot for your input. I am thinking about the Koni's or maybe the Tokico's, now that I know that it doesn't totally kill the ride.

I put the Comptech springs, sways and Koni's on at the same time (2 weeks ago).

For me the ride was unnecessarily harsh. If it was going to be a track car only, or maybe if I was a teenager I might have been pleased.

There is no doubt the car was very, very tight. But I think the Koni's made the ride too jiggly over the most minor road imperfections. I also had a chance to ride as a passenger, both front and back seat - very, very unpleasant.

In short, I hated it, and last week I took them off and replaced them with the stock struts. I now think this is a better set up, personally. There is still a ride vs. handling compromise being made with the springs and sways alone. I just think you get most of the benefit with a lot less punishment by keeping the shocks stock.

I'm probably in the minority by having this opinion, but I drive a lot of hours and many miles during the average day, and the Koni's made the experience less fun.

-Again, "you're mileage may very," but for me this was an expensive R&D excercise I could have done without.

I'm with Astro on this one. I have my Konis at between 1/2 and 3/4 stiff and I plan to crank them up almost all the way as soon as I get the chance to remove the backseat. I don't even notice the stiffness--the car feels great. I bet that if the Konis were turned all the way down they would be as stiff as or less stiff than the stock shocks.
