Dealer smoking in car.
I finally spoke to the service guy about someone smoking in my car when doing my cheap (!) 15k. service. He apologized profusely and said they would do a free interior detailing. That is cool i guess.
Better not happen again, though

I'm glad i told you guys after I talked to them.
You woulda got me all riled up and I would start yelling and swearing on the phone. I hate when i start doing that. Although, it is kinda funny.
Seriously though, they have been great so far and I told them that. I told em' not to fuck it up with a loyal customer.

Why would they even get in your car that long to have time to smoke? Don't they just take your car from the lot (where you dropped it off), to the service bay? That's retarded, I think you should go farther than just having them detail your car...
I recently had a similar situation with Acura Car Land in Duluth. I was watching some punk kid was my car after the oil change, but he didn't know I was watching. When he was done, he got int he car and squeeled the tires for about 50 feet while brining it around to the service pick up area. I gave the service manager hell and eventually got my oil change for free.

Seriously, i am figuring is the guy that was buffing out must have been smoking near the car. I don't think they would actually smoke in the car.
Oh man, i can feel myself gettin pissed already!!
Deep breaths....
Personally, I find that cigarette smoke is one of the most vile of all pollutants.
If interior detail = spray inside with 'smells like a new car' only as a coverup I would still be quite angry. It takes only a very few microns of odorant to form a stink. I would request a more thorough cleaning then a quick spray.
I would also take this up with the owner of the shop, the owner of the dealership, and Acura/Honda America. I would also report them to the BBB, AAA, and the state authority that certifies auto shops. I would consider a car that smells like cigarette smoke undriveable. This may seem like a minor point to some, but absolutely unacceptable to me.
I would scan your service agreement (the fine print on the service receipt) to see if there are any promises to return the car in at least a similar condition as it was handed to them. See if there are any disclaimers that cover stink or stains.
Good luck.

as a person who does smoke and works in automotive service
"THAT'S JUST PLAIN WRONG" to do in someone elses car
a time or two i took home a tl loaner - people do smoke in them even though we ask them not to, but i never do, its just common courtesy, if its not your car-don't smoke in it!

Loseit - I'm glad they're doing a real detail.
acura_service - As a service provider, its reassuring to see you agree that cigarette smoke in someone's car is also 'plain wrong'. There are few things in this world that really upset me - smoking in my car would be one of them.
