Dealer said cupholder wouldn't fit and TL-S remote would not work on my CLS???
I went to the Marty Sussman Acura today and asked for the new cupholder and he said it would not fit cause the console's are different, now what the hell is up with that?? Then i ask for the new TL-S remote and he said it wouldn't work with the CL-S, he said the computers are different. I know these guys are pulling my chain cause alot of guys on the board have the new cupholder and a few guys have the TL-S remote on their CL-S. any different ways i can go about getting this stuff??

Just get the part numbers and call up the parts department and place an order for the parts. You can "install" these yourself in a matter of minutes. The part number for the cupholder is the last thing in my signature. Should be $8. Email me once you get it and I will help you get it in, should take 10, maybe 15 seconds. The TLS remote, well order it, then the instructions have been posted on this site already, just search for them... ignore dealers when they get stupid like this.

Your dealer is a jerk! I have both. Drive the 2 hours to Park Avenue Acura, they'll take care of you! I have both the TL-S remote and the CL-S remote all working in harmony. The cupholder fits fine (as long as it's the same number mentioned in my sig.)For some reason, dealers want to take the easy way out. No, no, no...when the answer should be yes, yes, yes.

Looks guys, we on the board, thanks to ALL of us, are much smarter than the dealership. They sell cars and accessories, not mix and match for fun. If they have a CL remote, they will tell you that the TL remote is for the TL and the CL remote is for the CL. Buy the CL remote. Anyone will tell you that. If you go to the gun shop and you say you have a 357 Magnum, they're going to sell you the [more expensive] 357 Magnum rounds and not the [cheaper but compatible] 38 Special rounds. Some will know if works, others will not. If the TL remote worked on the CL, why doesn't the part descriptions say '01 TL/CL Keyless Remote? So don't blame them that they are being sorta irresponsible by trying out all the parts and accessories on the different cars. Lots of customer come in and out, they just make the quick sell and goodbye. Again, not all dealers are the same (read: not like Park Avenue Acura), not all of them are on the Internet, etc. The Vehicle Power Adapter for the Motorola Timeport will work on the Motorola StarTAC, does everyone know this if it is not marked? No, that's why I try to be as descriptive in all my stuff...anyway the dealers are not dumb [about this piece anyway]. Even if you showed them how it works, it does no good, they're not making any money off of the [coincidence]. What they shouldn't do is make up some excuse why it isn't compatible....
If you want the parts, you just need to never mind their explanations, ignore there "no returns" jest, tell them to order the parts by part number, you have the car to fit them whatever that car might be, when they arrive, call me and I will pay you....then move on. Don't sweat the dealer on this one, it happens in ALL industries.
