Dead battery and now check engine and SRS lights on.

So i left my system on and drained my battery hardcore. it wasnt on loud but i forgot it was on. anyway, i had to get the car boosted, and now the check engine and srs lights are on. is this normal? will they go away or do i need to go get the codes pulled at a dealer?

this is on my 01 CLS.

U might try disconnecting the battery & let the ecu reset aft it's all charged up again. That turned my check engine light off after my dealer had previously turned it off for me. Make sure u have ur radio/and or nav codes tho 1st. My srs light was on also but the dealer took care of that one when they turned off the check engine light.

There's a way to reset the srs light after the battery has died... Chick at work had the dealership do it for her (along w/ putting in a battery)...

Is it the SRS light or the OPDS (occupant position detection system aka "SIDE AIRBAG OFF") light ??

Check out this thread (diy reset):

Cool

So whats the way to reset the light after the battery has died? I actually tried resetting the srs light with a srs service connector I bought from the dealer but it didn't work. I didn't know about the paper clip trick at the time so I bought the SRS service connector which is basically the same thing.
