Daylight Running Lights

My 01 CL-S isn't equiped with DRL and I'd like to have that feature. In Canada they are mandatory so Acura must have a way to make this happen. Does anyone have any ideas?

I just imported my CL-S into Canada from the US. I had to get DRL's installed but my local dealer couldn't do the job properly, using about 25% of the high beam intensity. Rather, they subcontracted the job to a tuner shop, who installed a relay turning on my HID's with the ignition. I passed the federal inspection and then removed that relay. Hope this helps (in some way).

Why? I never understood them. I hate them myself.....
Maybe call a dealer & ask? I know you can find daytime running light kits that let you do it. I've seen them on car sites, & on Ebay.

It's a safety thing - it makes your car more visible. In Canada, if you don't have DRLs, you won't be as visible as the other cars on the road. I hate them nevertheless!

The higher end cars (read: Benz's) are DRLs controlled by the ECU... you can turn them on and off as you desire.

I know the why behind them, I just don't see it being true.

I drive with my regular headlights on most days (and night's too!) for safety. there's some terrible drivers here that don't see or hear anything except their speed dial buttons and their ring tones.

My friend had to take his BMW to have his DRL turned off. I hate em too. I never have looked to see if mine had them though. I'm assuming not.

Drive/ride a motorcycle and you will see why DRLs are true.

On my VW, I disabled my DRLs by taping down the TFL pin on the headlight switch. Easiest 30 second mod I've done to that car.

Day Time Running Lights for hondas are an actualy module that is harnessed with the ignition. Its not worth it to do it right. You might as well just relay your HID's to turn on all the time or just your Highbeams=)

with cars with non- HID's just hook it up to regular headlights. Like night driving all the time to pass inspection.
