The damn navi buttons!!

I'm not a whiner but the Navigation buttons on our CL are at wrong position. They are positioned on the RIGHT side of the screen so I have to make a stretch just to be able to reach them. I like to drive my CL with the seat reclined way back and I have to almost sit up every time just to touch the damn buttons! The buttons should been on the LEFT side of the screen, closer to the driver, Duh! I guess maybe the whole navigation system was designed for the Japanese market where drivers sit on the right side, but that's a stupid excuse. Better yet, I think Acura should put the secondary controls for the navigation on the steering wheel, just like the very useful audio control buttons.

Also I'm getting sick and tired of pushing the "OK" button on the screen every time I start my car. I know that Acura is trying to avoid a serious law suit in case some morons get into an accident while operating the navi, but come on give me a break. That's another problem we have in US, everybody wants to blame others and sue others. Check out below to see if you agree.

TIME WE START ACCEPTING BLAME FOR OUR OWN ACTIONS, AND NOT PUTTING UP
WITH PEOPLE WHO DON'T!!!!!!

Subject: Lack of Personal Responsibility in Today's Society

God bless America, land of free, home of the blame.

Let's see if I understand the state of personal responsibility in the
America of the 1990s.

If a woman burns her thighs on the hot coffee she was holding in her lap
while driving, she blames the restaurant.

If your teen-age son kills himself, you blame the rock 'n' roll musician
he liked.

If you smoke three packs a day for 40 years and die of lung cancer your
family blames the tobacco company.

If your daughter gets pregnant by the football captain you blame the
school for poor sex education.

If your neighbor crashes into a tree while driving home drunk, you blame
the bartender.

If your cousin gets AIDS because the needle he used to shoot heroin was
dirty, you blame the government for not providing clean ones.

If your grandchildren are brats without manners, you blame television.

And, if your friend is shot by a deranged madman, you blame the gun
manufacturer.

God bless America, land of the free, home of the blame. Aren't we glad
we live in America, we can do whatever we want and give blame to someone
else.

Got it on the mark, "Land of the blame". I guess for the NAVI MDX got theirs on left side....

In the future, You will some bigger NAVI screens too, 7"-9" wide.

I hate to acknowledge the okay button each time I reboot my NAVI. Also, have you noticed that it will reset itself after you start the engine! So, you need another 2 clicks if yo were setting the NAVI while the engine was off....

maybe the buttone on the right side are one way to discourage using it while driving, thereby distratcting you from traffic - also preventing Acura from being told they lost the lawsuit cuz they made the buttone to tempting to play w/ in traffic ..... hmm..

I just leave the screen alone, ignoring the "OK" button, and then the clock with stars soon appears. If I need a destination, then I press whatever. No need to press "OK".

Anyways I enjoyed your rant.
