Damn my leather seat!!???
Okay, i was vacuming my car today, and noticed that in my driver side seat had some wrinkles, you know where pudding support our butt to prevent from sliding from turns. Anyways, i noticed there is small white stuff where the wrinkles run, and i thought it's only a dirt. Then i run my finger to that white stuff, and my surprised my seat has a small rip probably this big (-) sorry no pics. My question is this covered with warranty, and yes i treat my leather with Lexol treat twice a month. Anybody else had this dilemma?

I would think that it is Not covered in the normal warranty because some people just drive more and to re upholster a car would not be financially correct for a car company. Just my take..

The same thing happened to my leather seats. I took it to my dealership and they replaced the leather skin with no problems. Here are some pics of what my seats looked like.

Are you sure you didn't get the "pleather" option? Is out leather really that cheap? I haven't done anything to mine other than wipe it off with a damp cloth. No Lexol yet because I've been too lazy and I don't have anything like that. I have 20,000 butt miles!

I don't think that I ever lost the new car smell. I think that I take pretty good care of my car, weekly washes and then wax and leather care once/twice a month. I use Meguiars Gold Class leather care but didn't start using it until after the cracking. As for the leather, the new skin feels a little different from the original.

Stuck N SS, so it's covered by warranty? Did they reupholster your seat? How long does it take to fix that kinda problem. I will be going to the dealer this tuesday, and see if they can fix my problem.

One more thing you stated that the new skin is different from the original. What do you mean by this is the new skin is better than the orginal or vice versa...

It took them about a month to fix the problem due to the fact that they had to order the new skin. So they just re-upholster the seat. Once instock, it took a day to have them install it and then about a month for the seat to finally look right. The foam for the seat needs time to reconform to the leather. This is why I said the leather seams different. My original leather was very hard but this new leather seams to be a little softer. Other than that the seat feels fine and no cracks or famous hairy seat that others have talked about.

What exactly did you tell them was the problem. I wnat and try to do the exact same steps you went through since my leather is in horrible condition and I am a freak about cleaning it too so i know something is on their fault. Prob just cheap leather but if you say they will fix it...why not. Did they ask how it happened or anything aobut how its normal waer and tear and they wont help? If so did you say something to counter that to get them to go ahead and fix it? THanks alot.

I just brought my car in and told them that my seats were cracking. They didn't ask any questions just looked at the seats and then odered me new skins. This isn't the only problem I had with my drivers seat though. A bolt actually came loose and stopped my seat from going back and forth. I think the dealership hates me cause I am such a bit#@ sometimes but hey I didn't spend all this money for nothing.
