Damn. 03 Accord solves my only 2 issues with the CL-S!!!

Sat in a 2003 Accord Coupe EX V6, 6 speed and wouldnt you know it, both items on my wish list for the CL-S are solved! This combined with the features now available on the Accord does not bode well for our cars continuing or at least being sufficiently distinguished from the Accord.

1) The seat is mounted lower in the car so there is more headroom. I look out the center of the windshield instead of the top of it.
2) The wheel telescopes! (The CL's is too far away for my legs and arms to be comfortable).

Damn.....

On a side note, the shifter was quite clunky (engine off) which surprised me. Felt like my wife's old 85 Sunbird! My 77 Z is like butter.

Interesting because those are two of my biggest complaints with the CL-S. How tall are you? I am 6'4"

I'm a bit over 6'2" and have plenty of head room, but I agree on the steering wheel comment. If I get in a comfortable position for my legs, I have to sit forward to reach the wheel. So I have to compromise, the seat is a little too close for my legs, but a little to far back for a comfortable grip on the wheel. :/

I'm only 5'11" with 32" inseam. I always tend to want my legs out straight more than others but still want the wheel in close reach.

My biggest gripe is the location of the side mirrors and the thick pillars. They create a HUGE blind spot. Try to turn left at a stop sign at a slope!!! You can't see anything on your right.

YES! If there's one thing i hate about my CLS, it's the blind spots. And the rattles. Those bug the f*ck out of me.

I'm 5'8" and would love to have a telescoping wheel. I often feel like I have to reach to far for the wheel so I guess it's not just you taller guys. But I'm not lusting for the Accord.

Yeah, well, I wish I could have saved money by having my Cl-S with manual seats since in the two years I have had the car, I can't adjust them besides all the way down and all the way back. It seems that more and more vehicles are coming out with less and less room.

How does the clutch feel in the Accord as compared to the CL-S?

Does the seat recline all the way back? Thats another one of my complaints. It only goes back to like 45 degrees. cant sleep in this car!

The clutch felt the same to what I remember of the last CL-S I tried. Nicely weighted.

Just wait for the '04 TL and you'll have those features (most likely) and more..... minus the manual as far as we know so far....

I've noticed a lot of cars have a clunky shifter feel with the engine off. But, they are smooth with it running. Must have to do with the synchros or something.

I thought the CL shifter was clunky as well. Not surprising though, since the Accord and CL use identicle manual transmissions.......

Proves a point about ACURA-

Dumb fucks can't build luxury cars right. Telescoping steering column is a must for a "luxury" car. At least thrown in a MANUAL version of it...if not a powered option!

That's why ACURA isn't a bling bling name brand. Cause they don't know how to bling it.

I'm 6'3.5" and i think the seats are awesome.. plenty of leg and head room.. only complaint is the beams on the side which definitely create a blind spot.. but it's worth it for the comfort.. i am fine leadin back and relaxing while still having hold of the wheel and the pedals.. it's great.. which is why it's MUCH more comfortable than an Accord..

Well to some extent Acura knows how to "bling it." The RL does have a powered telescoping steering wheel. For whatever reason it hasn't trickled down to the lower models in the lineup. Yet.

However i'd say Acura makes more of a "Entry Level" luxury car(s).

I am 6'2" with 36" inseam (Ok, it was a 36 inseam when I had a 32" waist) and I find all except the headroom great. For everyday the headroom is fine and I like the tightness of the cockpit, but fear that if I ever do decide to track the car I won't fit with a helmet. I guess it is time to get Sparco seats then!

As to Acura vs the other luxos. I have had Lexus and I would'nt trade the sloppy handling, running, of the lexus for the Acura. Did not drive the IS300 though?? But we have two Acura's, the CL and the MDX. Love them both. Hondas and Acuras are just tighter/crisper in handling and running vs Toyota/Lexus. Now if we cross the Atlantic instead of the Pacific the answer would be different.

I thought the reverse-down mirror, auto-dimming rear view mirror and standard Xenons were nice features in my CL-S. Oh well, I guess I am stuck with a ghetto ride.

Sooooo, is there a way to get a telescoping steering wheel and the lower seats into a CL-S?

I"m 6'-1" and about 185 lbs. The interior is kinda tight. I hit my head often on the headliner. The mirrors and post are large but I wouldn't trade my car for any other car in it's class. I have a pretty awkward sitting position. Long legs and arms really help though with the sterring wheel. It's fine to me!
