If you don't have $ for stock mounts. Anything else will be just as expensive or more $.
Used mounts are ok as long as they are in good shape.
Stock or innovative are the only available options as of now.

well this topic seems to have been answered, but I have a question. How are you supposed to know if your motor mounts are bad?

They are torn or leaking. The rear mount you may not fully know till it's taken out.

I need to ask a serious question. This isn't the first thread where I've read about people needing to replace their motor mounts. What the fuck are you people doing to your cars that you need to replace the motor mounts or you need custom motor mounts? I seriously want to know. You guys must be digging like crazy at traffic lights.

Stock mounts are POS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They are a cheap rubber that gets twisted & breaks TOO easily. They were not designed to take the power of a stock CLS & weight of the car.

Simple as that. You can granny drive your car & still break them.

Hmmm. I don't granny drive my car. In fact I've pushed my CL-S to the limit so many times I don't even get that much pleasure from doing it anymore. Maybe I'm missing something. Maybe my motor mounts are broken and I just don't know it because the 3.2 is so smooth.

But I've experienced motor mounts breaking in my Volkswagen back when I was in college. Even then the motor mounts didn't break until after I had hit over 150,000 miles and I had raced the living shit out of that car. I don't feel that similar limping or loping feeling you get from broken motor mounts. Maybe I'm just lucky. Maybe you guys adding all those mods to your cars adds more stress to the motor mounts than they are designed to withstand, which forces your motor mounts to break prematurely.

Trust us it's just a poorly designs car part. Check yours. If the side mount has what looks like rusty water under it it's broken.
The front/rear tend to collapse on itself.

I'm going to the dealership to get my front end aligned anyway. I'll have them OFFICIALLY check my mounts. In all seriousness, I've been driving/racing/working on cars too long to not notice broken motor mounts in my own car that I drive everyday.

Just as I thought. I went to the dealer this morning for an alignment and had them check my mounts while they were at it. Even with asking for the front end alignment the guy looked at me like I was nuts even though I told him I rammed the shit out of a huge curb trying to avoid an asshole hogging the lane.

The results came back the front end was perfectly fine but the rear end was out of whack. He also said nothing was wrong with the mounts. There was no leakage or cracks anywhere. 89,000 miles on my CL-S and practically nothing wrong.

What exactly is the rusty water that comes out of the side motor mount? I was always under the impression that this mount did not have a fluid because it is not hydraulic. My car had the rusty water near the P.S. pump and all near the cruise control and abs module. I took it to the dealer and the tech told me it was not the mount because it did not hold fluid. I didnt notice any increase in vibrations after this but I still think that the mount is broken. Is there any other way to tell if the mount is broken?

You can reach your hand around the rubber parts. Pull/twist it. If it's not solid then it's busted.
