Custom Grille

Hi All,

I am happy to report to you that a lot of my car work has been done since we last spoke. My Modifications as of right now include:

18" Volt Racing 753 Rims
Injen Intake
new brakes & drilled rotors
G2 black painted calipers
XPel tinted headlights & tail lights
Tein H springs
Tokico Blue shocks
PIAA Driving Lamp Bulbs
XS Power Headers

Now I have two questions for you. I am looking to change my grille and wondering what i should do. My car is an 01 SSM. So that means I have the chrome grille molding.

What would you guys like and recommend?
Getting the 03 matching grille molding or staying with the 01 chrome?

What do you think about meshing the grille out like the Ron Jon grille? Or do you just leave the grille plain? And finally if I were to mesh out the grille, what combinations should I make the molding (Chrome or SSM) and the grille mesh (black or silver)?

Thanks

Ronjon makes pretty sweet grilles or you could just paint your own

i've yet to see this on a CL, but i think like black molding with silver or brushed chrome mesh and maybe a black A emblem might be cool
Or you could just go with the standard RJ chrome molding/black mesh if that's what you're looking for

idk i'm just throwing out ideas here lol

Sorry, SType, I meant to tell you not to do the mesh in the grille. Some of them look good, some of them don't. The RJ ones usually look pretty good. I've seen a couple of them in person and I think the '03 style looks better w/out the mesh.

That or as I said... Titand19 style all the way...

the only mesh grill that looks half way decent is the titan19 grill.

Doesn't his have the mesh inside of it? I know it's Mugen style but I wasn't sure if there was mesh behind it or not. Either way, the shit looks

His doesn't have mesh. The only thing behind it is a chopped up Mazda 6 lower grille (big honeycomb).

its still mesh...just not ricor gutter guard. the otherone that looks decent is the farabeast grill. the only way they look right is if the mesh or whatever material you use is recessed.

I opted to use the masda mesh because it's plastic so i don't have to worry about rust etc.

Some colors look good with a blacked out grill.

Actually the only colors that look good with a blacked out grill would be the the darker colors.
