I've heard varying numbers from CompTech which are not based on actual dyno runs. For a SC'd CLS, maybe 4-6 whp and for a non-SC'd CLS (with intake/headers/exhaust) maybe 2-4 whp. CompTech is suppose to have some dyno numbers out when the b-pipe is released. I've been told by CompTech that the b-pipe was designed to improve the exhaust flow for SC'd CLS. For non-SC'd CLSs, the gains will be minimal.

I'll be installing the b-pipe cause I see a SC in my CLSs future.

I was expecting something to be totally surprised that the b-pipe was slipped. And don't forget, when they say that the b-pipe will be released late this month, what they really mean is maybe sometime before the end of the year.

Sadly, By the time the B-pipe comes out there will be no more need for it cause half of you guys will own some other car by then.

What size Diameter piping will the B-pipe be and what material will it be made from?.. Will it come with clamps or will you guys need to get it welded in place?

I know there's already a thread on this, but here what I've been told by CompTech:
  • 2 1/2 (maybe 2 1/4) inches in diameter
  • About 4-5 foot long. I think it will be shipped as two bolt together pieces to save on shipping costs.
  • Has a resonator/muffler near the end where it bolts to the Cat
  • The other end bolts to the two axle-back exhaust-mufflers
  • 100 % SS
  • 100 % bolt-on solution
