Expected to have both CT Springs and Sways on at once. Ended up with CT Sways on with Stock Springs. Handling has improved two fold around those corners!

Has anyone ever done Sways first, then Springs? Will I feel an incremental suspension performance with the drop?

Definitely, I had sways on my '01 CL-S without springs for some time and then moved them to the '03 CL-S6. I went this way for almost a year before the springs recently went on. And yes, there was a marked difference in handling with the addition of the springs.

scalbert thanks for the good news! I'm close to getting these CT Spring's on and I can't wait for further tightness!

stejus,

I just did the reverse of that.....springs, then sways....and there is definately a difference in the way the car handles with both. I know you will be happy!

Dean, did you get a chance to measure the diameter of those CT springs?

I need to get off my lazy ass and install the sways that have been sitting around for a month. How long does the install take?

takes about 2-3 hours. Shorter if you have good tools.

Here is my 2 cents since I'm considered a "normal" guy with cars...my 01 stock sway bars were replaced with CT and then I had the car dropped. All i can say is that with BOTH spring/sway replacement, the fuckin' car was awesome. IT REALLY IS DIFFERENT. You can definitely corner alot better but the only drawback is that you can also feel the weight of the car...shit, with both drop and sway replacement, the car feels heavier even though you feel the car more agile, the weight seems to be more pronounce. Also, I personally couldn't tell front wheel drive from rear wheel with the sway/spring setup. The CLS is really sweet with that setup...too bad it isn't like that STOCK.

Now my 03 is stock...until I replaced the sway bars. The weight of the car is alot lighter feeling than the 01 with CTsprings/sways. Unfortunately, the car still has alot of body roll and the sways DO WORK..but it's not that different from stock....I know that if I lower the 03, shit, it will be freakin' AWESOME.

That is my experiences with springs/sways. Also, I find the car a bit bumpier/bouncier (due to stock struts) but other than that, I would not say the car is unbearable when driving with both springs/sways....with just the sway swap, it feels EXACTLY STOCK.

I'm probably gettin Teins & Sways installed this week! I can't wait!

Do you guys recommend against getting both installed same day? I assume it would be a cheaper install but you would not be able to pick out what benefited what in the handling as opposed to seperate installs.

it doesn't matter if you can tell what did what, you'll love the end result either way. Do it all at once and save yourself some time.
