CT spring being installed today

Well, CT came thru in a hurry and provided a new spring on my warranty claim. Some of you might remember that it was broken in half. I'll try and take pix of the busted spring today and post. Tell ya what, CT came thru quick and no questions asked, whatta company.

Chief, I wasn't aware that this happened. How many miles are on the springs? Did you know it when it happened? I've heard of it happening, but have never actually seen it. I'm anxious to see the pics as well. Kudos to Comptech!

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk!

Sorry-but you guys aren't gonna believe this one. At THE moment the service tech is driving my car from outside the dealership into the bay SPRING #2 BREAKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The service mgr and 2 other guys are standing there when they hear a loud "pop" so the tech stops the car, they look underneath the car in the vicinity of the "pop" and see the driver's side rear spring has broken too. Oh yeah, it gets better-the front springs are lookin' like they're gonna shit the bed too! :swear2: :swear2: :swear2: :swear2: Car has about 35K on the odo since spring install I'd estimate (just less than 2 years). Now I'm gonna have them put the OEM springs back on and backcharge CT in addition to telling CT they owe me a refund for my springs. God dammit I'm pissed.

How can this happen?

Any chance that someone has been up under your car with a hacksaw or something? (Maybe somebody in the Bush camp?) Might better stay out of politics for a while.

I guess when one side breaks it would put additional strain on the other side but to break in the parking lot like that, it just doesn't make sense.

Sorry about this bro, I know that must be very frustrating. Let us know what Comptech has to say. I'm sure that they will stand behind their product.

No chance of the hacksaw thang; haven't driven it for 4 weeks b/c of the 1st broken spring and took it easy to shop today; it clearly rusted/broke as a result of metal fatigue.

Bobby-I sent CT a letter today, last time they responded within 4 hours, today 9 so far and no response (Mem. Day weekend)

Red-Thanks for the concern, it'll work out. We have our ways!

Could have killed you. Get all new ones.

Get them to send you a set of new springs (Don't let them give you the rebuilds  )

That should NEVER happen.

I wonder if they transmission rebuilders found a new product line?

It would be one thing if you bought some springs and got crazy with a welding torch.

Whoever is making their springs probably used some pot metal in lieu of the proper mix of alloys.

That sucks -- you could really get hurt if you were at highway speeds. And, Comptech should NOT take the matter lightly. It's not like getting a crack in a header -- that's your suspension and possibly the life of you and the people in your car. 'Nuf said...

Demand a full new set of springs. Be polite, but do let them know that others are watching.

omg..

there has to be some type of probem with your car or something for the springs to crack, this sounds very fishy

i'd demand my $$ back and get some eibachs or hr's

I'll post pix of the springs when I get them off my car-you should see these things! You'd think they were 50 years old from all the rust on them. I've never got into an accident, not even a small bump w/ the car; tires don't wear funny; and, car rides great. I therefore don't believe anything is wrong w/ the car, nor does the Acura Tech who has been working on it since new. I'm still waiting to hear from CT.

Do the comptechs really rust that easily. I can't see any rust on my neuspeeds, but i just was looking at them and didn't take them out. What do they use to cover the metal? Black powdercoating??
