I need to get my car inspected. What... if anything will make my car fail inspection. I am not familiar with the tint laws in Connecticut or anything else for that matter. And If they won't pass my car because of tints... do you know somewhere that will "Overlook" the tints.

 

i'm not familiar with inspection law in ct either, but i'm pretty sure that the tint law in CT is 35% for driver's and passanger's window.

 

i paid 150 for my inspection, in NY, you gotta pay to play.

 

Havent had a car inspected in a couple years but here goes....tint is 35% on all windows except rear...rear can be 5%. you get a +-of 2%. they will give you ct stickers for tints if you pass....they dont like custom exhausts (found that out the hard way). they also dont like any aftermarket exterior lights especially if they are red or blue.


and just make sure your horn, windshield wipers and all your lights work....and dont forget the front liscence plate...they'll get you for that

You're screwed. Take the tints off and have them re-done. It will probably be less than having to pay someone under the table.

 

Keep in mind it's 15% + the OEM tint which makes it closer to 10%. That'll fail for sure.

 

crap... I am movig to CT as well for work and I have pretty dark tints (don't know the %). i also have Comptech mufflers. Its a Canadian car though with Ontario plates. I wonder if they will bug me as well?? any ideas..
