Cross-drilled or slotted?

After warping my front rotors today at the track I've started looking for some new ones. Should I get cross-drilled or slotted? What brands should I look at? New pads too? One last question, can I just replace the front ones or do I need to do all four?

since i didn't feel like paying over 2g's for the Brembo kit at the time, i decided to do a put-together one

so i got Brembo blanks for the front and got a new set of the stock rears and had them sent to a guy in CT who cd and slotted the fronts while only cd the rears since he said the surface area was too small on the rears and slotting would compromise the integrity of the rotor

as far as which is better, it depends...the Brembo kit is cd, but there r many holes, so gasses will prolly vent successfully...so if yer not getting the Brembo kit, slotted rotors will work better...if u want something like what i have, slotted will work...unfortunately, using my stock rears aren't slotted...as far as pads go, Hawk's r great...i also use Rofren which r used in Italy...they also work pretty good...i would NOT get Green/Red Stuff...ceramic pads r also worth checking out...ceramic pads r somewhat new these days, and i've been hearing great things bout them

there was a Rotora big brake kit group buy not too long ago also...i think around $1500 or so...think it came with ceramic pads too...dunno too much bout this kit...im sure others here can help out

if you don't track the car, there is no need for any real brake upgrade. Brake upgrades are designed to minimize fade, not significant'y shorten stopping distances. You are better off with a tire upgrade for that...actually, you are smart to upgrade tires in general. If you just wants the looks, that's another story. Just buy a reputable brand of rotors if you go aftermarket. I'm sure Brembo makes OEM sized ones that have options with slotting and cross drlling and both.

I found that slotting ate my brake pads very quickly, while just cross-drilling didn't hurt the pads as bad. I was using Axxis pads at the time, so they weren't junk.

the fronts r Brembo blank rotors, while the rears r stock CL rotors...Eurobraketech will get them and do all the work and ship them to u

ask for Dave when u call to get pricing...o, and u can get any style u want...if u want straight line slots, no prob, just tell Dave what u want

as far as pads go, Eurobraketech deals only with Rofren pads, and until recently, Rofren does NOT have a mold for the front pads, BUT they do have a rear pad mold (dunno y), so yer on yer own for the fronts (i got a set of the Hawk street pads up front from TireRack)...Hawk pads r great and have been proven in C&D tests

Well, in my first sentence, I said I had just gotten back from the track w/ warped rotors. I also drive on SO3's, so tires are fine. Looks would be nice but I'm really not looking to put alot of $$ in an entire new brake kit. Just rotors and pads. Thanks!

no problem....another suggestion. Run different pads for track and street. The track pads are better for the high temps of track driving.
