This was fun... I was just driving to work and I see an obnoxious-looking red GTO with the windows down passing me up. Anyways, not that I really cared... the guy got in front and threw his cigarette butt out and it hit my car. Knowing me... I don't react until provoked... so it was ON!

It wasn't even close... I devastated they guy. Probably pulled 5-6 car lengths in 4th gear alone!

I think it was the 350hp... not that the 400hp would have made much of a difference <- cocky smile!

Trust him, if it was toasted, maaaan, toasted I say!!

Seriously, at higher speeds, anything somewhat hard can scratch the paint.

Ram, you have to get to the track, the weather is fine
Get BFG g-Force DR 225/45/17 and run it.

I think he'd rip the front end completely off his car if he got TOO MUCH traction.

Nice kill...

And don't your hate it when idiots throw their cigarettes out the window. I remember one time when I was driving with my moonroof open and someone tossed a cigarette that almost fell through my moonroof. Damn I was

Way to go Ramanan...

But you should really consider being nice to these other vehicles on the road. I am curious when you are going to run up against a worthy and unlikely opponent like a GTO which looks stock but has quite a bit under the hood.

I do miss the CL-S6 SC/IC lately. I miss the at-speed pull it had terribly. I had a run with a guy in either an de-badged SRT4 or a Neon with a hood, engine and FMIC swap out of an SRT4, my guess is the former. Anyway, it started from a roll at about 15 MPH and I pulled a little as I think he spun some. But once into 2nd the gap remained the same and once in 3rd I beleive he gained a little. The CL-S6 would have possibly lost ground in the beginning but certainly would have left him far behind once traction was obtained.

The other project should be started soon so I may be calling you for some insight on the NSX.

How's the NSX search going?

It is moving along and have found a couple which might work. Since my father-in-law has now joined the project we are trying to determine the best course of action. For right now I am waiting on my shop manuals (notice I said plural as I re-purchased the '03 CL Helms along with the '93 NSX) to determine the initial route.

As I mentioned before, I haven't thrown out the idea of retaining the stock engine. I want to check out the engine controls first to see how easily I can adapt what I know to it. If it looks doable I may follow Ramanan's path and use a GT35R turbo on the stock C-Series.

If it doesn't look promising I will keep with the other plan and incorporate the J-Series.

My father-in-law is pretty much leaving the technical decisions to me. However, his input is greatly weighed as he has the extensive experience. The only area I have greater knowledge is in the engine controls.

In the end we both want a car that can be reliably taken on vacation, taken to the strip or taken to the road course and perform exceptionally well while behaving like a stock car when not pushed. 500 WHP with race fuel and 400 WHP on the street on pump (over 350 lb/ft is also a requirement) is the goal with weight under 3000 lbs. This is not unreasonable and should be easily obtained.

And how is your search progressing??

It is also moving along but I'm going the new NSX route. I got my first test drive one week ago in an '04 NSX-T, Imola Orange Metallic w/ Orange interior with only 51 miles on the odometer. I almost couldn't believe how much more well balanced and planted the car felt as compared to my CL. But, I did miss that low-end grunt my car has. However, I never took the NSX over 5k RPM out of respect. They said I was the first test driver in it (yeah, right... ) I liked the exterior color but not the interior and it was an '04. I'm really looking for a Silver/Black NSX.

Dealer was asking $89k with a 3yr lease at $799/mon. They also told me that Acura stopped making the NSX in '04, contrary from what I heard from other dealers. As soon as they found out '05s were available and still being produced, they called me and said they had lowered the price to $75,900. I told them no thanks.

Today I got a call from another Dealer who confirmed with a factory rep that indeed, Acura is still producing NSX's in '05 and that I can order one from the factory with near zero miles and still all wrapped up. The downside, I wouldn't take delivery until May.

There is also an '05 NSX-T, Silverstone Metallic w/ Onyx interior available in a dealer trade. Tomorrow, I'm going to the dealer to get more info on car (mileage, accessories, etc...).

So I can either wait until May and get a virgin NSX with exactly what I want --or-- possibly drive home tomorrow with an NSX with almost what I want, but not a virgin bride.

Which way should I go?

I would say it depends on getting the color combo you really want. Congrats and take some pics as soon as you pick it up.
