Yeah, that kind of smells like the car was wrecked.

Or it could be a structural defect in the mount...

By racing or by wrecking. A cracked motor mount should be covered by warrenty...

first of all, u took it to Rallye (very shady place...despite the fact that it's literally 2 minutes from my house, i still take it to Park Ave. in Joisey)...they treated me like sh!t there when i wanted to buy my baby (wound up buying it at Smithtown) and when they serviced the car...your man Mike may treat u better tho...i've had my rr speaker replaced also by Rallye...dunno y!! the car was 3 months old

what's seat shite??? and y a new head unit??

i know it's inconvenient (it is for me, but i don't care), but would u consider going to PAA???

man that pisses me off

how is it any of his business to ask you that?

shit

the car is a sport coupe and has a TYPE S badge!!!!

personally i would try to get that guy fired just for saying that

how dare does he ask a personal question like that?

he might as well ask you if you been having unprotective sex and that you are at high risk for a std.

you buy a car

it has a warranty

you take it in for service

something is wrong with the car

its under warranty

they fix it

you pick it up

and drive it home

THERE SHOULD BE NO QUESTIONS OR HASSLES

ESPECIALLY IF YOU SPEND OVER $30k FOR A LUXERY CAR!!!!!!!

all tru i guess - no matter what i do with my car (even if it is racing WHILE having unprotected sex - its my biz-niss!)
however, ill hafta check..i think the mount may have "failed" - i may have been the one to say "cracked"..
will check when i have to tell them about the non-fixed-yet fixes they did yesterday..
needed a speaker cuz it cracked/vibrated when bass/volume was up (still does), and they went ahead with a nw head unit cuz the front speakers were fading in and out (not sure if they still do)..and the trim (small tray) around seat heaters is now loose after replacing teh faulty drivers side switch..
All was definitely covered under warranty, and certified 5/62 and 7/100 warranties help peace of mind, but i DO wanna know this car's history, i guess i should pay for a CARFAX report?..or scream at F-in Curry Acura up in Scarsdale for an explanation..Grr..we'll see..
PS my mom got her TL from Smithtown and always goes there for svc - theyre generally pretty great..Rallye was horrible for sales, but svc has been great so far..People wise..i guess (yeah) the car/quality isnt svc peoples fault..

Ironic. I litterally got home minutes ago after picking up my cls fom Acura. The transmission on my 01 CL died last wednesday so it has been there since then.

To my point, the service manager, with his chessy smile, said "so we replaced your transmission, ecu and the tech said you had a cracked motor mount, so we went ahead and replaced that too for ya!"

Want a cookie you cheesy bastard? His tone of voice made it sound like they did me a favor and went above and beyond the call of service. Anyway, ironic that this is the topic when i log on.

As far as the new tranny, feels a bit peppier off the line but a little slower when the vtch kicks in at 4800. Only my preliminary evaluation. im afraid to truly stab untill i give it some time to break in. More on it later....

Incredibly bad wheel hop and front-end bogging.

I think I had a motor mount replaced each time I went in for a replacement tranny too. It should be under warranty.

And you should've gotten the CarFax report before buying the car.

When I went to pick up my 2001 CL-S after Ferman Acura in Tampa had replaced the tranny at 49k, I casually looked under the hood for curiosity's sake and found the nut on the forward engine mount was only finger tight. So I unscrewed it and took it inside fuming mad to show the service manager. He personally torqued it down with the impact wrench, which I didn't think was such a good idea, but he was kind of frassled. Then I made him put it up on the lift while I checked everything from underneath. Everything seemed OK, but I found they had dinged the driver's door a bit, so he offered to have his paintless dent remover guy fix it. Over the next few days, I felt and heard what seemed to be something shifting under acceleration, and it was getting worse. So I took it back, got an RSX loaner, and later heard that I had a broken engine mount which they needed to order. No admission or explanation. After a couple of days they called and said it was ready, and since I was pretty sick of them by then, I just went and picked it up without saying anything. And I've never been back....

yeah my car has never been in an accident and i had to get my motor mounts replaced too. they found the problem when they were replacing my tranny and fixed both for me. tustin acura did all teh work for me and they are pretty good. they even gave me a tsx loaner.

some symptoms of motor mount's dying are rough idling. thats what i noticed.

Yes, we have problem with out front and right side engine mount. They are usually worn or crack at about 50K miles, but I have never seen one crack at 15K miles.

i didn't know something as simple as a motor mount caused wheel hop or bogging...the rough idling i can understand since the engine isn't being held properly in its place..basically the way i was told to recognize a bad motor mount by my mechanic uncle was to have someone lightly rev the engine...if the engine noticably moves up and down...then your motor mount is pwned
