Cost of Ownership

Guys,
I am looking for some help here....
I have a 2002 CL with about 125K miles on it. The car was in an accident and has been rebuilt and painted. However the title is clear.

I had the tranny go bad on me about 3 years ago and acura replaced it under warranty. Besides that, I have not done a single thing on the car except for Oil changes and tires.

I am looking for some help in predicting the total cost of ownership in the next year. What in your opinion, will I have to spend on the car to maintain it. If its gonna be more than the value of the car, then I will sell it now and buy an new one.
The tires are gone and the wind shield is cracked, so those definitely need to be replaced. Any ideas on the cost of those? Any thing else? timing belt? other stuff?

Tires you should be able to get for less than 400 mounted and balanced if on stock wheels.
Windshield I would imagine you could pick one up used and have it installed in the 3-400 range.
timing belt you need to search around for your best price.
I sure you could find someone who would complete the job for 400 but I'm betting you will hear crazy prices too.
Check hours for the job, price your parts, and find some one who will charge you reasonable labor per hour.
far as estimating cost per year is difficult.
Stuff fails.
could be you have to do only oil changes, maybe a bulb or too, pads rotors, maybe a battery.
or bad stuff.
trans failing,broke timming belt,wiping out the heads,pistons,block.
run into a cooling problem, blow head gasket ,damage head
A cel engine light that you keep buying shit for and it stays on till you done with it.etc

honestly I would say atleast
3 oil changes
a air filter
a battery
a set of rotors and pads
a set of tires
and keep your fingers crossed nothing bad comes up and you should make it threw just fine.

How the suspension ?
ball joints,springs,and struts
You might have to include this stuff too if there is alot of mileage on them.

Windshield - ~$200-250 at most places
Timing belt - Expect to spend at least $600 on it, as much as $1200 (if you go to a dealer)

Keep an eye on the transmission. If that goes, youre in for a $2000 bill on average.

Without knowing the condition of the car, its hard to say what else it may or may not need.

Actually, some Acura dealers (like the one I go to) only charge 900 for a timing belt service

unfortunately, these cars are never worth selling. you'll never be able to get any value from that. i would continue driving it until a major repair is required and go from there. if your worried about the cost, then only make repairs that are mechanical and necessary. depending on the rack on that windshield, you may not even need to replace that.

Werd. They're worth less than an Accord from the same year with the same mileage even though they have a nicer engine, interior, etc. Best off just keeping it and running it until it's dead. You'd be lucky to get $4-5k for it.

The big question is how much do you still owe on it, or is it paid off?
