Coolant Temp guage Help!

so this has been like this for a little bit and I'm not sure what to check. The gauge seems for the coolant seems like its off. When the car is off, it sits 1cm above Cold. When the car gets hot, it goes a bit below half way which I guess is right. Now what could be bad? Coolant Temp sensor? Sender? How do I go about checking/replacing whatever is bad? Thanks in advance!

Eddie

Normal...I wouldn't worry about it too much. If you want to be self conscience just change the fluid. Easiest way to change it is to unplug the either one of the hoses going in or going out of the radiator while the motor is running. Just make sure not to over heat the engine though! Then refill...plug the hose back in obviously, run the engine when its cold and fill it through the top of the radiator.

If you have the Mugen cooling mods and if you live in a colder area...you'll notice during the cold months that the t-stat will be lower than normal.

It's an idiot gauge anyway. If it looks normal when the car is hot, you should be fine.

so would that mean I need a new gauge if it doesn't work all the time?
