converting thousandths to mm.s on Rotors

Q for you mathmeticians on conversion.
New out of box rotor thickness is 28 mm.

Today have 12 thousandths above minimal of 26 mm on my front drivers side Rotora rotor.
Passenger side is 20 thousands above same minimal of 26 mm.

1. How much above min are they in millimeters?
2. How much has been eaten in mms since new 28 mm?

(Situation is Rotora uses mms, mechanic uses thousandths). Sidepoint they are slotted. To turn or not to turn input is welcome altho what i really want and need is the math above.

Those rotors are done. Time for new rotors. Turning them will take away too much metal.

How about simply slapping new pads on without turning?
1st and only pads were Axxis Ultimates. Stopped well, but too much black corrosive dust, hated them. Daily driver not racer.

New pair are _____ Bobcat carbons, 'sposed to be wayy less dusty and eaty yet give great stoppage.

1mm = .0394"

0.001" = .0254mm

12 X .0254 = .305mm

20 X .0254 = .788mm

You may get away with it but if it was my car I would put new rotors on it.

Won't hurt a thing. If you are changing pad compound you just want to be sure all the old stuff is cleaned off. Scotchbrite and brake cleaner work fine.

As long as your rotors don't have too much runout, it should work. Your rotors don't have enough material to have them turned but enough to be above the minimum thickness so it's still safe.

10-4 thanks for the info.
New pads are on cleaned up rotors.

Worn out pads were Axxis Ulitmates. Only got 16K on conservative driving. Not digging that at all.
