Red face Comptech SC 3.5L MDX-block/NSX-head & rear-drive conversion CLS-6...

... on a CLS-6.

Would that not be the coolest car around?

A CLS-6 with about 400whp @ the rear wheels from a supercharged 3.5L engine. Lightweight 19" rims with fat fat rubber for optimal traction & handling, not to mention upgraded suspension and brakes. And with all the interior luxuries intact (AC, 8-way seats, 6-disc in-dash system, navi, etc).

Unfortunately, the time & money required to make something like that work is just not worth it.

But one can dream, right?

Perhaps one day, when the CLS-6 becomes one of those "coolest ride 10 years ago" type of car, and also much cheaper to own, someone will undertake such a project.

i don't even want to start talking money by breaking down the costs for all the conversions and changes. but yeah, that would be sick. a RWD would appeal more to me cos of more power.

You should keep the CL, we should open up a donation thread, run by paypal, and have every member donate either $.50-$1.00 for this very very needed cause of wanting to see your CL with all this on it. Theres like 70,xxx members, lets make it happen!!!

I take it you've seen this article right?:

http://hondatuningmagazine.com/featu...ht_comptechcl/

why don't you invest in your CLS and go with this setup?

Yes, very good idea, now... how do you make sure I don't take that $$$ and go buy a Z06 with it?

As for me, until I become really rich and have too much disposable income, I won't heavily modify another vehicle again.

I've already gone that route when I was 20... bought a 1988 CRX Si for 2,500$ and spent 17,500$ on mods (B20Vtec, Tein suspension, GSR brakes all around, etc). Lost half my money when I sold the car.

I won't let that happen again - not until, like I said, have too much money lying around with no better opportunity cost for it.

Lose the back seat and make it a mid-engine drivetrain by moving the motor back there and it wouldn't be that impossible.

We should have monthly lottery's. Everyone who wants to get in post a dollar a month and at the end of each month we have a drawing, whoever wins gets the money. It'd be kinda cool to win.

Oh and the NSX heads won't bolt to the MDX or CL block.

C-series vs. J-Series.

IMO... the J-Series is a better motor. Much more torque

Steve is right Jseries is better, I know since I have the same 3.2 in both J (CLS - 260/232) and C (Legend typeII - 230/200) cars. Now, anNSX rebuild could work on my Legend someday when I have the money....but that's after I get a blower for the CLS. The CLS especially 6 speed is just like the 6 speed Legend that I have, a great coupe and people will admire in in the future.

Patience my friend...

I'm just going to wait till Acura builds a RWD coupe...

Rumors are flying around about possibly the s2000 getting canned, and a new 2+2 coupe replacing it
