Comptech S/C has boost upgrade!
I just found out that the Comptech S/C has a boost upgrade available... it only goes to 6psi (new pulley and belt) and makes about 10 extra whp. So I suppose with their testing... 6psi is safe!
Where did you find out this, just curious??
I would feel that running 93 octane would allow for a safe 7 - 8 psi, but not more than that. I would estimate it would give about an additional 25 WHP at about 7.5 PSI boost over the base 5.5 PSI. I ran 15 PSI boost on my GTP, albeit it was running 8.5:1 CR, but was running the older blower style, i.e. less efficient.

I have been holding on to this little nugget of wisdom.
I think it actually brings the boost up to around 7psi, but I will have to get confirmation.
The retail on the kit is $79. Comptech does recommend upgrading the injectors--at least on the Accord.
The upgraded pulley will void the warranty on the S/C, though. Per Comptech....they have set the system up with what they are comfortable with, boost wise, and are not quite comfortable with pushing the motor any harder. Comptech does the same thing on all of their boost upgrade kits--viod the S/C warranty--including the ones for the NSX. Comptech has never had a S/C fail with the added boost, but just do this as a precautionary measure.
Thanks
Dean

I suppose a good 335 to 350whp will be nice with that kit. Unfortunately in CA, we have 91 octane... hence the only time boost will be increased is when 100 octane gas is available

I would be happy with a solid 325 WHP which should be doable. I do suspect that part of the limitations in the standard kit comes from the octane available in places like CA. I have no problem finding 93 grade as all stations have it out here.

Not that hard at all--takes about 10-15mins. I don't know how they would be able to track it down either.

allmotor_2000,
Nothing yet. It has not officially been released yet. Basically they have tapped out the 6-speed with the base kit on the stock injectors.....so, if you want to increase the boost, there is going to be a need for upgraded injectors. They are currently working on a "kit" that will replace the stock injectors, recalibrate the FMU and have a new pulley and belt---no ETA at this time.
Sorry
