Comptech Machine Shop Upgrades??

According to Comptech's webiste their machine shop can do upgrades to our engine's internals. Has anyone approached them for these mods?

From Comptech's webiste.

We are offering four levels of performance engine preparation using different specification components for each level.

The following operations are performed on customer supplied engines or core engines can be supplied if necessary. These packages are based on the Honda B18C(1&5), B16A/B, B18A/B & B20B/Z longblocks. Other Honda engine series supported are K20A, F20A, J30A/B/C, and J32, which would include similar packages pending availability of parts.

LEVEL ONE
$3775
Power increase 10-15 horsepower

LEVEL ONE engine is a race quality rebuild of the engine with the compression ratio raised from 10:1 to 10.5:1 by surfacing the cylinder head and cam timing optimized using adjustable cam gears.

Operations performed:

Cylinder head - Race valve job with valve seats blended into ports, head surfaced to increase compression ratio, head reassembled with spring heights and pressures set.
Lower end - Bore and hone cylinders, surface block, align hone main bearing bores, recondition connecting rods, balance and polish crankshaft.
Assemble complete engine, which includes setting rod and main bearing clearances, ring end gap, piston deck clearance, setting cam timing and valve clearances.
Parts Included - New cast pistons, piston pins, piston rings, rod bolts, rod and main bearings, gaskets and seals, water pump, timing belt, timing belt tensioner, stainless steel valves, valve springs, adjustable cam gears and oil filter.

Options to enhance engine performance: Lightweight flywheel, header, exhaust system, air intake and oil pan with additional baffling to prevent oil pressure loss in hard cornering.

LEVEL TWO
$4775
Power increase 20-25 horsepower

LEVEL TWO preparation includes all machining operations performed on the level one engine plus full street porting of the cylinder head.

All parts from LEVEL ONE are used plus;

JE forged pistons with 10.5:1 compression ratio for added reliability and new camshafts, which improve power across the rev range. These cams use stock valve springs.

Options to enhance engine performance:Lightweight flywheel, header, exhaust system, air intake, standard oil pan with additional baffling, aluminum oil pan with additional oil capacity and ported intake manifold.

LEVEL THREE
$6775
Power increase 35-40 horsepower

LEVEL THREE preparation includes all machining operations performed on the level two engine plus competition porting and c.c.'ing the combustion chambers.

All parts from LEVEL TWO are used with the following upgrades:

JE forged pistons with 11.3:1 compression ratio for added performance, Carrillo high strength rods, stainless steel valves and new camshafts with additional lift and duration. These camshafts have excellent high RPM gains with modified V-TEC lobe profiles and improved mid range performance with redesigned primary lobes. High performance valve springs with titanium retainers are also included.

Options to enhance engine performance: Lightweight flywheel, header, exhaust system, air intake, standard oil pan with additional baffling, aluminum oil pan with additional oil capacity, ported intake manifold, higher flow fuel injectors and reprogrammed ECU.

LEVEL FOUR
Big bore / stroke combinations

We can supply components and build engines to specific requirements with B18 bore sizes up to 84.5 mm using either sleeved standard blocks or the Dart block. As always, Comptech also offers engines built to IRL, Toyota Atlantic, SCCA, & NASA legal specifications for racing purposes. Engines prepared at these levels tend to be tailored to specific applications, so please call with your needs.

^ Where are you seeing $15k and 80 hp?

Level 3 is $6775. It includes all of the other levels, but not the cost of the other levels. So for $6775 you get 40hp.

So for $2000 more than the S/C you get the same power all motor. Hmmmm. What about level 3 + S/C???????

true but this is reliable power. Speed isn't cheap.

If i could get that kinda power in addition to the 250-265-whp h/i/e/rims/flyhweelplus level to to have 290-300whp N/A?????????/ I'd do it in a heart beat over S/C.
