They are equal length headers, so you'll pick up more HP/TQ in the bottom end. Unlike the C/T and OBX, which just give you more HP in the last 1000 RPM..... They have a dyno of a V6 accord on their site (it's a dyno of theirs vs C/T).

...And.... they look bitching!

To me, (1) and (2) are very important. These arn't race-cars... they are 'reliable' cars which we make reasonable mods to enhance driving pleasure... that's it!
I agree. Why be a guinea pig? Just remember this old quote my father used to tell me, "YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR." He's been right many, many times.

kissing the warranty goodbye? will someoene please explain to me how the quality of an exhaust OUTLET in an engine will cause the engine to break down? I don't think there will be any warranty issues b/c as we all probably know they have to prove that the mod is what caused the failure... and that goes the same with any nonfactory or aftermarket part... even the Comptechs... if they can prove that the CT headers caused engien failure then they won't cover it, simple as that...

What's the worst that could happen? bad welds? bad materials? the header could rust perhaps? either way the worst you get is an exhaust leak... something that A) can be patched or B) throw out the header and put the stock ones back on... I think people who paid more for their CTs are just upset and want to convicne tehmselves that by paying 3x as much they are buying piece of mind...
Get off the Comptech thing, i could give a shit how cheap the OBXs are. I bought Comptech headers a year and a half ago, and my car has benifited every minute since. OBX was nowhere to be seen. Now their R+D amounts to ripping off a respected companies design so of course they're cheaper, and if that's what you want, go for it. I mean CL-s with Navi have lost 80% of the value of the Navi, but owners are glad they've had it all along.

no shit. its getting ridiculous.

If you can afford a $30K car and you want added performance, what the FUCK does it matter how you spend your money?

I wanted Comptech cuz I wanted to keep my factory warranty, NO QUESTIONS ASKED.

Please don't start this BS again.

I never bashed one person that bought C/T. There were the only choice, and if you wanted headers, you had to pay for them.

I don't know, but I'd like a set. I think Shawn asked, and right now they don't fit a 6 speed.

Hopefully they fix that issue.

You crack me up. You brag about getting your Comptech headers for $500, then you say that.

And that "no questions asked" is bullshit too. Any dealer that's an asshole about mods won't give a crap what brand nameplate is welded on your aftermarket headers.

There are maybe five Acura dealerships where they will be okay with Comptech parts but not other mods. The rest of the dealers out there range from "no mods EVER" to "any intake/exhaust mods are fine with us". Acting like Comptech mods are guaranteed not to break your warranty is foolish.

Pohanka Acura, and the dealership I bought the car at, Riddle Acura in Cheaspeake, VA told me:

Comptech parts will maintain your warranty, INCLUDING HEADERS.

I think I got a steal on the Comptech's. Otherwise, I'd prolly be pimpin' some OBX's. :P

First off like JRock said it depends on your dealer, best way to know is to call them up, hopefully they are not the only dealer in your area. Second they have to prove that your headers caused the problem. Like everyone seems to be saying, if you have a problem act like a real asshole who is pissed off, the only way to get through to most acura dealers.

Obx is still not carb certified, and they dont fit the 6 spead are their main 2 drawbacks, the company has been around for a long time and makes many parts for other cars. Most of us didtn know to much about comptech before we came to this forum and everyone has something comptech, just because they own the monopoly on this car does not mean they are the best.

Finaly about prototype headers, their site has not been updated in over 3 months, the av6 headers dyno is nothing new. No new word has been given about them. I emailed the email address on the site, no response. Wait for prototype good luck, but unless you call them think of your waiting for prototype as just that you dont want to spend the 1k right now, and that is completly reasonable.

OBX WILL NOT BE CARB CERTIFIED....their price is their selling point.

for me personally :
when I get my V-6 Accord(coupe) or CL
I'm going to wait on the Prototype headers
cause I saw the dyno on them and the powerband starts lower
on the Comptech and OBX is up in the 6-7 grand RPM range(which is redline range)
with the Prototype yeah I admit their the price of the Comptechs but if I want headers I want them to fit my type of driving. I think of the 200,000 thousand miles on my car(which I put 100,000 on and my mom put on the other 100,000) I'd say at the most I've redlined it 4-5 times. plus I like the looks of the Prototype headers.

the nice thing about Ohio is we do but we don't have emmission standards.
like you can't drive around without your cat off.(that's common sence)
but we don't have to take our cars to a goverment station to see if they pass emmission standards. so if if you want to in Ohio you can run stright pipes from the cat back.
basically as long it's not SUPER LOUD(i'm talking like when you get on it it rattles windows)
but my friend has a new style Chevy 1/2 ton v-8 we put headers on it and ran dual stright pipes out the back and its loud and he goes by cops and they don't turn arond or anything:P
