Comptechs will last, DC sports will not. Comptechs are expensive, DC sports are not.

In my opinion...no comparison.

Comptech aka CT-Engineering produces quality stuff that's proven to last.

The cheapest price I found for comptech headers with j pipe is like $1,100 that's a lot for just headers. There axle back exhaust is also very expensive but I might go for it because I like the tone and looks.

If you are patient and search the Black Market or even EBAY, you are bound to see some Comptechs, Im glad I went with Comptech or CTE vs getting the DC which was my plan at first...CTE is worth the wait or the price...You can usually find some for $500-$700 used, If you email some companies you can bargain with them to get the price down on the high " New " price...I say get the CTE

WHAT A BULLSHIT Jacob.

Both are top quality as for DC im talking about the newer design... if you are auto and you are not from California go with DC cheaper and same thing practicly

Comptech looks better but its not worth paying over 2 times more...

i say find used Comptech or buy new DC

Rear header wont clear rear engine mount bracket. You will have to grind it or do the custom work on that header

What the others are saying, the headers for 6-speeds have a bend in the flange and the automatics like what fox bought, do not. You have 1 of 2 options. Grind down and re-weld that flange, or call comptech and see if they can send you a flange to a 6-speed.

I just got off the phone with comptech you guys are right. If those are real comptech headers they are for a auto which is a older version before the 6 speed came out. I'm waiting on a answer from the seller to see if there even real. Comptech said if they are there will be a carb number and there brand on one of the primary tubes. I guess I'll need a refund.

Yes, the only negative comments I've heard about the DC Sport headers are from the first design. afaik they redesigned it with a 3 bolt flange and there haven't been any issues that I've seen or read about.

People say the DC headers are garbage, but I haven't seen anyone say anything negative about the HHC5528 headers....yet.

The seller has bought and sold over 250 items on ebay with 100% positive feedback so I doubt he's trying to lie about anything. He actually never had in the description for a auto or 6 speed. I just received the refund so I'm back to square one now ha.

The new 2nd generation DC headers are fine. I have them on my car from excelerate for a year now with no problems at all! The first generation ones sucked. BE sure to get the correct ones listed on the earlier post if you get the DC headers.

How do we know if they are good if they have only been out for 1 to 2 years?

Where did you find these stats? I've been told by vendors that the hp is the same.

both headers will give u the same gain. its the same design, same size pipes. comptech and dc are well know companies and they have great products. xs is a copy of them and will produce the same gain but will crack around teh welds and discolor. the price difference is so big bc comptech paid and what not for their headers to be carb legal. so ppl what need carb legal products will pay more.

i dont know where Jacobpockros got the info that dc headers wont last nor where ParaSurfer1979 got his info on y theirs such a huge power difference.
id like to know where both of u get ur info from.

I got my info from reading constant posts about how dc headers get cracks and have fitment issues. The posts I read were talking about the old design but still.

Is it my imagination, or was there someone else on this forum who said they were able to fit Megan headers on it as well? If it's legit, then there's another option.

That would send the ecu into a conniption fit. If you do that, you are opening up the flow on the front bank of cylinders and leaving the flow restricted on the rear bank.

And no, an OEM cast manifold will not bolt up an aftermarket j-pipe.

My experience with CT has been excellent... installed when new, so hard to gage the HP increase, but I do know I have surprised a few stock CLs, BMW 300s and Mustangs

CT customer support has been outstanding.
