Comptech Exhaust

What's all the hype about?

Just spent 45 minutes installing them & they look great...

HOWEVER...They really don't sound much different at all.

Is it the combo exhaust/headers that give it the better sound? Cause, I'm not liking $525 for shiny pipes...and I don't want to dump $2,000 into exhaust just to get a rumble(exhaust, Bpipe & headers).

Somebody chime in please.

Well i put mine on after i had headers on and with the b-pipe. Shit was like night and day.

Your saying you sound like stock even off the line? How about at WOT on the highway?

Check to see if the silencers weren’t pre-installed in there.

WOT is a bit louder.

No silencers(I think?) Just looked like regular pipes.

Heavy as shit too...

I've had the GReddy EVO before. Now I have the CT axle-back. The Comptechs are not as loud as the EVO but are definitely louder than stock.

Just give it a little time. Maybe it needs to be broken in a bit. When I first got them, I did not notice much difference either.

I took a long ride last night to my folks house(75 miles) & by the time I got there, they were noticeably louder.

So I believe they do just need time for the packing to tighten up...

They do sound good...just wish Comptech wasn't so damn expensive.

Do they have that famous drone at 70 mph cruise (2k rpm)?

A little under 2K, but it seems I have to try & make it do it...normal revs are above the drone area. It's not a problem.

I think with the headers, there is a more pronounced drone than with just the axle back exhaust.
