comptech catback vs. axleback only?

I know what comptech axlebacks sound like on the CL. I was always wondering though whether adding the comptech b-pipe and having the full set-up would noticeably change the timber of the sound @ all.

where it sits, stock piping + axleback drones alil' too deeply (moos as i've put it countless times lol).

i like the sound, but want to see if i can raise the timber of the exhaust tone alittle.

short of getting a custom b-pipe put in, i want to see if anyone has a sound clip of comptech catback laying around...

thx y'all.

My CL begins at around 2:27 on the following clip. You can hear the sound from the outside.

what about trying just a different resonator? i replaced my stock resonator with an old hks resonator i had from another exhaust. the tone changed to a little higher pitch sound. helped alot in fifth gear between 1200-1800.

sounds clips of said throatiness?

and just offhand comparison of allouts car and mine (although i havne't heard my car taking off from outside) the tone definitely seems to be brighter than the lower tone of the comptech axleback.

still doesn't get that hollowness of the greddy evo2's though

i'll have to have someone take off in my car at that speed while i watch to check.

ive also been wondering the difference between the axleback and catback, if theres a difference in sound. i too want to get that low deep throaty (hehe sorry) note but not have to pay $1200. ive been lookin at borla's exhaust, and theirs sound pretty nice too. nice low and throaty, not ricey at all. but i went to the website, and aparently they dont make one for our cars.

so is comptech pretty much hands down the best setup for a CLS? they seem pretty pricey... but if its backed up with some performance the price doesn't matter as much.
