Comptech buyers wanted NEW PRICING

I just got off the phone with a reputable company that would like to sponsor a team. As some of you know I am a co-founder of a club and a member or TeamCL. They really want to get into the scene and are looking for Bay Area people to sponsor. But not only Bay Area people will get the good deals they just want some name recognition. They will install and give great discounts on Comptech parts. My contact is going to get back to me on the exact numbers on the cost. The installs will be done by trained Acura techs so this way they (Acura) cannot say that it was not done right. I am trying to get a head count of what people want IE headers, exhaust, sways, and soon to be intakes. Thanks for your time.

Does this mean we have to put Comptech stickers on our rides??

Why would Comptech need name recognition when they are already a well-known (and sometimes the only) Honda/Acura tuner?

What would be required to get the discounts??

I can't imagine you just "sign up" and get great prices??

thanks

Well for one, its not Comptech, its a place that sells comptech and wants to get THEIR name out there. As far as signing up I am not sure. That is why I am trying to get a head count and see what is what.

If the price and the terms are right, I would be down for getting the headers!!! If I have to give up my first born male child, or admit I know moomaster, then NO WAY!!!!!

It's all about the $$$. If the $$$ is right, then the headcount will show it.

I think it's safe to say you have a significant amount of interest, why don't you try to get some more details and fill us in on what you can find out...

Quick Silver...

There is someone selling a Comptech exhaust.. he's only asking around $275-250. I do NOT know him and have NOT seen pics, so don't buy on my recommendation, but it may be worth talking to him... I HAVE NO DETAILS, MAKE SURE YOU FIND OUT INFORMATION FROM HIM DIRECTLY..

his e-mail is: Kevintyper@juno.com

i wonder if said company would be interested in sponsering me considering the amount of coverage my car get's going to car shows , and also racing at SCCA AutoX events around they bay area. I know alot of cars at AutoX are sponsered by companies around the bay, so the coverage is pretty well-known. I'm scheduled to be at an invite only car show/event at Sears Point raceway in two weeks. It's actually a big carshow in a special area at the track, and then we get to drive on the track for two laps in between races the races are the American Le Mans series at Sears Point.

said company would also not have to do much to my car since I already own the majority of things for it. There are just a few more things i'm looking at getting soon

Another thought:

Would this company be able to do anything with helping us get the Comptech SuperCharger??? I may be willing to tattoo their F'in name across my Forehead if that's the case

Heres the deal

Well here it is when I got the call I thought that I was loosing it, it was Los Gatos Acura and they wanted to know if I knew of a team or a club that would like to meet at the dealership for a show. They said that they had just gotten back from HIN and were looking into getting into the mod scene. So I asked about parts and that brings us back to where we are now. Mike over there in parts (408-355-7943) was very nice and told me that we could setup some kind of group buy on comptech parts. He is really into the whole modification thing and the owner of the dealership is too. Mike said that they had a group of NSX owners over there all the time but now they are going after the CL, TL and RSX people. So he still has to get ahold of his comptech people and get some prices. I hope that some of you are not willing or want to go to a dealership for things like this, but maybe not. Hope this helps. Thanks

Thanks for all the support. I know that they want to start soon, I am waiting by the phone as I type this. I am in search of cheaper headers and am hoping the price that they quote is low.

FYI:

I don't mean to bash, but even with a groupbuy and getting comptech parts AT dealer cost, its still going to be ~$900 for the headers. It won' t be that big of a break.

Also, why would they want to offer this to CL owners?

The CL is more of a luxury coupe, not a race car. :o

Understood.

I don't know why, but I sure do want headers and they were the ones who called me. I am just doing a little leg work on behalf of them. Plus the install won't void the warrentee.

I think we all know that it is not a race car but some of us are in the search for more speed.

Well as Mike said the more people that call him the more that he might be able to get better deals. By showing interest he can cut costs. Thanks again.

Well wtf would I say when I call him? I would just wind up asking him a bunch of incessant questions about what's going down.

Here's another question for you myCL:

Would we get a bigger break if we installed all or most of the Comptech package at the same time (headers/exhaust/sways/springs).

Also, what about intake stuff, would anything be included in this deal? Doubt we could get a much better deal on something like AEM/Injen, but perhaps when the comptech icebox comes out... hm...

This guy is selling CT Exhaust.. haven't seen them or pics, don't know him either, don't take my word on the seller. Think he's asking $275

his e-mail = kevintyper@juno.com

Why do you need to get rid of the HKS Dragers?? I've heard good things abou them...

Don't get me wrong, I love em.... Problem is the cans themselves are about 2-3 inches lower than where the Comptech ones would hang. Also, the tips hang about 1 inch further down from the bumper cut out than the comptech ones. Being that I live in SF, and want to lower the car MORE, means I need to get exhausts that aren't so low
