Cold Air Intake
Cold Air Intake
Hey people,
I am wondering which cold air intake i should get for my CL-S. I want to get the best performance for my car. Also, Do you guys know any place where i can purchase one, because the guy was going to sell it to me for 240. I'll appreciate your help.

i think there are currently 3 you can choose from
AEM, Xephry, and Injen..all are good from Dyno results. Personally I am gonna get the Xephry when i am ready.

Well I took a chance on the Xephyr, before many people had theirs, and it turned out to be a great investment. I can't say enough good things about it. #1, pricing. $185 + 15 shipping, and that includes the AEM bypass valve installed already. The AEM intake doesn't include their own bypass valve, you have to pay another $40 for it, plus cut your pipe. #2, performance, Chris, the maker of the Xephyr intake posted 14.5 second 1/4 mile times, and he was 100% stock besides the Xephyr CAI. All CAI will give you about 10 hp to the ground. #3, install, instructions were perfect, and you can call him directly if you have questions. It worked out great for me, if he isn't backordered on parts, he ships really fast. Best of luck to ya...
PS. you can reach chris at www.xephyrperformance.com

I don't know anything about the Injen CAI, but I have read all the threads and posts about the AEM and Xephyr CAIs. They are about the same in terms of performance and appearance. If you're on the superficial side(like me) and want the name brand, buy the AEM CAI(same thing, more expensive, since you are paying for the AEM name). If you want something that works just as well, buy the Xephyr CAI. In terms of installation, the Xepher CAI would be easier to install. The AEM CAI requires you to unplug all your hoses and replace them with the ones they give you.

I just ordered an AEM CAI. Here's what I found.
AEM CAI = $213 + $13ship = $223total. (Name brand, Comes in diff. colors, No bi-pass valve, Looks THE BEST IMO)
Xeypher CAI $185 and comes with the bi-pass valve, it's a new product, works just as good as the AEM.
Injet CAI = $199 with FREE SHIPPING, Only comes in polished color, I don't like the way it look IMO, Have not heard much on this (I think Nova or someone ordered one)

I don't like the look of the Injen either. AEM in red looks awesome. If you want to help out Chris and keep your money local, go with the Xephyr. If you need a bypass, go with the Xephyr..will save you about $60 and easier to install. I don't need a bypass and liked the look and known reputability of the AEM, so I chose it. Ordered it from Tim at autocarparts.com and got it in 2 days.

i'm probably (more than likely) going with xeph's intake. price wise, u can't beat it. and for what it is? c'mon, u can't beat that. i'll get comptechs when it comes out too to see which is better then sell the one i like the least.
