CLS vs. Prowler
CLS vs. Prowler
This guy pulls up to me at a red light in a Plymouth Prowler and smirks--please! I gave him over a car length head start and floored it, passed him him while shifting into second (screeeech). Had him by over 5/6 car lengths at 80mph. It was a really sad to beat an over the hill guy that bad, but he started it! I knew those things were slow but damn, Chrysler screwed up big time when they threw a Dodge Intrepid moter in a roadster.
1997-1998 were the slugs. In 1999 the new standard engine was the 3.5-liter High-output SOHC 24-valve aluminum block V6. That new powerplant boosts horsepower by 18 percent to 253 bhp (from 214 bhp in 1997), and torque by 15 percent to 255 lb. ft. (from 221 lb. ft.). Acceleration varys in the high 14 second land for the quarter mile. Trap speeds are low 90s. Curb weight 2838lbs auto/autostick only option.
Seeing as you are maybe in the mid 14s he must of had a pre 1999.
how soon?

High 14's means any stock CL-S can take him no matter what year the prowler is. I did 14.5 with only an IceBox.
A co -worker has a 2000 & it's bone stock, & can't pull better then a 14.9 at the track. He belongs to a local Prowler club, & says even fully moded just motor cars only get into the 14.2 range.

Nice kill, I want to race one. I saw one at the track and he ran a 15.5(2700ft alt.), thats like a 15flat at sea level. LOL That thing needs forced induction or a V8 to compete. For comparison, I run 14.7 at the same track. Could you imagine a Regal lining up with a Prowler and then spanking him by almost a full second inthe 1/4? LOL
