CLS-6 Vs. G35 6-speed?

With mods indicated in my sig would I be able to take a G down? I've taken out easily several Nissans with same engine (Altimas, Maximas) but still haven't run into a G35 since I installed my mods and don't wanna get embarrased.

I think you should take a stock G35. If he has the same mods like intake and headers he will probably pull away on you. watch out for a supercharged g35 you'll just get walked.

Is there any dif in speed between the 04s and 05s. The #'s are a bit different but does that actually cause a difference in the 1/4 Mile etc.

Yes a Stock G35 and say a lightly modded (05 Coupe 6 Speed) with a Z-Tube and Plenum Spacers.

Let me know the date and I'll be their.

Never actually saw him in person. Its a friends of mines mechanics (his best friend). He works for Eastcoast Autosport. I just dropped off the car and my boy brought my car back to Elizabeth with everything installed.

Icebox and thermoblock is barely modded. You are probably at about 14.4 @ 97mph depending on your launching & shifting skills. Most bone stock 6 speed G35's run faster than that, but not by much. Now, an auto G35 will be like mid 14's, so they will be a drivers race.

You REALLY need better tires if you want to race from a stop. Best bet is to race from a slow roll and shift as fast as you can.

edit: didnt see the headers, in that case you are probably close to 14.0 or even 13.9 if you can get a great launch, so a bone stock 6 speed G35C should be a very good race, and you should slightly pull from a roll.

put down the crack pipe. smoke implies beating someone by a substantial amount which is not the case between these 2 cars.
prove me wrong.

Might have to invest in some rubber soon because SSR is taking forever to release the competitions again and my tread is wearing down. Looking at Bridgestone Potenza 960s. I got a hookup for 163 a tire + 100 rebate if I buy em before May 7th (Tirerack sells them for 174)? Any opinions?

According to a review I read recently the BFG KDWs are about the best rated traction tire. Unfortunately I couldn't find stock anywhere in Canada, so I had to settle for the ES100s which I have driven on before... and are a good traction tire.

I think that the g35 6spd lightly moded can beat a cls 6spd with those mods because not only are they quicker off the line but they have more HP and I think they are lighter too. I raced an auto g35 coupe and ended up neck to neck up to 70mph then we shut it down. He had an intake and I have a an 01 cls, headers, intake, axel backs, and some good rubber. So if that was a 6spd and one of the new ones with 300hp i think he would ev had 2-3cars on me. If you think that your cls can beat my auto cls by that much then you can take him but otherwise, if money is on the line, dont do it.

Alrite I think it's time to pull the trigger and get the UR-SS set. Hopefully I'll have the fastest NA Acura at the meet.

i went headsup with an A/T G35C and walked him. this was under 80 mph from a 15 mph roll. i had a chance against a 6 spd and kept even to the top of 2nd where i had a "shifting" mishap. i had forgotten it was in SS. so i think you have a great chance of winning unless this run goes up to your 4th gear. damned invisible gearing wall.

i think you would win assuming you shift well. i raced a g35 coupe the other day and won by like a fender. he was winning at first but right when i hit vtec in 3rd i barely pulled past. i only have an aem cai. so with your headers, id say you have a good chance.

Pound for pound the G is a quick car. The body is made of real lightweight aluminum and the interior is set up to be luxurious but not heavy. My brother has an 04 G35 coupe in Auto and I've seen him murk on alot of different cars using the trip-tronic. All depends on the driver, but from a stop light the G will def. run alot of cars out of town..
