CLS 6 vs. Evo MR

Dunno if this helps at all.
Just after I got my car, and my friend Val got her Evo... We went to the track. Her and I had the same 1/8 times. She actually only had me by 1mph in the 1/8 mile. But it was a full 1/4 track.
Also working at a renouned shop for tuning Evo's, and STi's.. I will say this. Don't fuck with an Evo, unless it's from a roll around 45+.

FINALLY!! So, its funny b/c the day I went to race my friends evo alot of my other friends wanted to race, so I'll start from the beginning. First was the random 99 m3 on the way to meet up my friends supercharged mustang. Basically, it was about neck and neck till 3rd gear and I rolled on him, and it gave me some confidence b/c this guy with the supercharger was supposedly killing m3's. The guy with the sc mustang I didn't know personally, but I knew his other friends and I thought it was dumb that he sc'd a v6! Also, Im not sure what yr but it was the older body syle, not the new gen. So we went from a 35 roll and i could hear his sc rev up. 3 honks and we were gone. I pulled on him at the end of 3rd, but not by much. I had 2 ppl in my car too and he had 1, so I was like wtf?! We did like 5 more rolls and each time I was pulling on him, even from a dig. A couple times he pulled a bit in front bc i fucked up on the shifts, but everyone was suprised and afterwards I was like, what gen m3s do u kill, and he said new ones... BS!! I met up my friend w/ the 04 m3 and he killed me, esp from a dig. The one time he bogged, i could see him walking on me slowly from my rearview. So, proof that the sc mustang was full of shit, i think he meant the older gen m3, but new gen, fuck no. Time for the evo. Lets just say, cocoa was right, dig=demolished, but from 2nd and 3rd gear rolls I kept my own. But, to keep things short, he destroyed me, just 2 much power. I was keeping in there from rolls bc of vtec and all the other shit i put in, but I could hear his bov as he passed me up continuous times. Thats why I wish our cars could still pull in like 4-6th like evos and m3s, just some insane power. I kept it short, but if want me details just let me know.

I don't know how you are going to be able to go from a CLS to an EVO... that car is trash on the inside... it is only good for overall performance.
When I had my CLS ( I had headers, and Intake) i easily put 2 cars on evo 8's from a 45mph roll.
Evo's don't shine too much in the straight line, especially doing big boy highway runs.
Its a light car with all wheel drive, of course it is going to get off the line quick, but then it dies out. Ask to race an evo from a +65mph roll and see how quiet they get and how quickly they back down. The v4's die on the highway (compared to v6 cls and v8's) even if they have turbos and add boost.

Saw a stock one at church's put down 270 at the hubs stock and 290 after tuning the car, forgot with what guess it was one of those tunable reflashes.

The only Evo I'd get, would be the RS. No need for fancy automatic windows/door locks. Comes with a lighter roof, and I forget what else is stripped. MR's are over rated. Same damn car, but what's the point in buying it? Only comes with a boost gauge, and a 6 speed tranny the Evo guys don't like (they get better track times with the 5 speed from my understanding). The Bilstein shocks aren't necessary since everyone and their mom goes with aftermarket suspension anyways. All you need is a chasis, engine, drivetrain, one seat, gauges, and A/C, and you have yourself a daily driver.

And Evo's would have an I4, not so much a V4...

friend of mine has a 06 MR with megan headers and had a hks turbo timer. from a 10mph roll we both went at it, he was pulling on me slowly but would get a jump on every shift. i was shifting at almost redline too and shifted perfectly. my mods were CT headers, resonates removed, HKS draggers exhaust, AEM Cai. i weigh about 175 and i was alone in my car. he weighs about the same BUT he has a friend in the front seat who weighs at least 200 pounds.
