i had a lil run with my friend and his white 02 CLs...we lined up at a light he had another passenger onboard and i was by myself. we both power braked at 2000rpm...i was usin gatshif and he was in SS mode...lights turned green i got the jump and put half a car on him...i hold this margin all the way til the end of 1st and to my suprice i actaully started to pull on him by the end of second!!! i took it 2 around 80 and shut it down he was about a car behind me.
i donno why i won...i was expectin to have my ass handed to me but haha maybe his acurator wasnt workin or maybe he juss cant drive worth a shit haha.

Yeah... I don't know why you won too... Hey, he's your friend right? Why don't you go check his actuator? Even if he had an extra 150+ lbs of weight (extra passenger) and even if he was using SS and even if he was fully stock (I see you have a CAI), I don't see you pulling on him, let alone by 1 car length by 80.

I'm guessing you beat the driver, not the car. All the same, a win is a win!

Read the FAQ. Look at the top left of this screen... Or do a search.

It's a round metal knob behind the engine that you can actually see turning when the car is revved to 4000 rpm. Have your friend gradually rev the car to 4000 rpm while you're looking at the actuator turning. When you see it turns, the RPM should be 4000 rpm or so.

Do a search on the board. There are pictures of this actuator.

Well before your "SO SURE" thing, hold up.... I dont know why you think a stock TypeS is all that fast... stock Vs. stock, yes, TypeS is a bit quicker, but not by too much.... I have CAI, Denso plug, and pulleys... and I ran 14.71... and I believe thats about a stock TypeS... and when he has a passanger, I dont see why you think it's like 0% chance of a CLP to win.... maybe your little opinion is a little stuck up.

BTW, maybe it's me, your little "I'm guessing you beat the driver, not the car" is offensive to me, cuz you simpily just say all CLP are slow, all CLP sucks, and all CLP should eat the TypeS dust. Thats not nice AT ALL!

No slight intended toward the CLP. Sorry if I offended you. Just to let you know, my post wasn't totally unconsidered. My thought process was something like this...
Stock CLS + 1 additional passenger is about the same weight as a stock TLS
Stock TLS has a 1/4m time of about 0.1 or 0.2 seconds slower than a stock CLS.
Stock CLP has a 1/4m time of about 0.6 seconds slower than a CLS, ie abt 0.4 or 0.5 seconds slower than a TLS

32vv1ll's CLP was stock except for a CAI. So my question to you is, all other factors being equal, can the addition of ONLY a CAI make up for 0.4 seconds in the 1/4m? I'm sure you agree that the answer is no. And since I don't doubt that he won the race, we must then look to other factors to see why he won, eg driver or SS vs gateshift or busted actuator.

Well, that's my reasoning for you. Like I said, no offence intended toward the CLP.

Oh sorry about taking your opinion wrong... my bad....

Well, yes, if you do the math that way, yes, theres no way a CLP can pull on a CLS with a PAX...

But in the real world racing, math racing do not exists... plus CLP with CAI do make a HUGE diff.... cuz before I had mine, the car feels like an Accord V6, can never feel the VTEC... but once i have the CAI on, you can hear and feel the VTEC big time....

When mine was stock, I ran 15.13..... with CAI, i ran 14.94... then i put the Denso plugs, and AEM pulleys, I ran 14.71.... well..... i guess i should say, 14.94 should be a even run with a CLS with PAX......

Oh well, anyway, sorri about taking your comments wrong... you do have your point, but i guess i taken them wrong. my bad

No problem laser1180! My bad for not clarifying. Now, if you were some cute chick, I'd suggest we kiss and make up. As it is, I'll settle for a handshake.

Well i have the tire pressure at 22psi, with the stock 16" rims... NO powerbrake, cuz if you do, once you let go the brake, the car will confuse for a couple of second before it launch...

Anyway, i let go the tire pressure to 22psi, so it will have a semi drag effect... once it turns to the 3rd yellow, i stepped on it hard.... TCS off.... it will just grip and go... it make a HUGE diff.... i gateshfted, since it will make a diff in 1st to 2nd... now with CAI, Denso plugs, and AEM pulleys, i ran a 14.71....

waiting for my UR pulleys, hope it will make more diff
