For the CLP owners out there....

I have successfully installed a TypeS upper intake manfold on my 99TL. It was a lot more work than the 00-03TLP and 01-03CLP owners will have to do, but it's done. I believe for those cars it's a simple bolt-on (well you should really replace the lower IM for the most gains).

Read about it here: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=140583

Glad to hear it worked out.

And you don't need to for the CLs at least. The lower intake manifolds are the same part number.

So I can put a Type-S intake on...upper and lower without changing anything else. Direct bolt on?

Go to a junk yard, that would be the cheapest.

You only need the upper intake manifold.

Actually they aren't...

CLP: 17050-P8E-A01
TypeS: 17050-PGE-A01

If it's like the TLS and TLP the lower IM ports are completely rounded on the TypeS and have a flat on them on the TLP.

You could certainly port them round to match the opening of the upper IM.

The upper IM will fit but you won't get the same airflow as the TypeS.

Here's the 03 TLP lower IM (parts #10 and 12)

Here's the 03 TLS

You would need the bypass valve actuator (IMRC) as well as an RPM switch to activate it.

Good luck. I was lucky enough to find one from a member on the board. I called a bunch of junkyards and they all said the same thing....yeah I can sell you the upper IM but it'll be attached to a TypeS engine and it'll cost you $1000 + shipping.

The CL and CL-S list the same part numbers

Thought about converting my CL to a CLS until I read that. Ouch!

Even that, I would still like to do it though. I want to squeeze the most HP out of the engine with bolt ons before I go internally.
