clicking noise near engine
clicking noise near engine
Anyone experience a clicking noise coming from the area underneath the intake on the right side of the engine. Mine starting making a clicking noise a couple of days ago. It doesn't click all the time but once in a while. I was thinking maybe the lifters but I'm not sure. Any info. would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Erik

It will take upwards of 11-HOURS.

No lifters in a traditional sense in this overhead cam configuration. The cam actuates the rockers directly.
As for being an idler pulley, all pulleys are on on opposite side of the engine as the intake. Sounds can be deceptive in their location.
Injectors make a clicking sound and may not always be noticeable. But this occasional sound from injectors is normal. Let the dealer check it out just to be safe.

I really don't know what you mean by twisty turning clicking noise.
It's more of a clicking tapping noise and it sort of goes faster as you accelerate, but it's harder to hear.
I guess I'll see what the dealer tells me, which will probably be
"everything is fine" cause that seems to always be there usual answer.
thanks anyway

My Problem Too
"It's more of a clicking tapping noise and it sort of goes faster as you accelerate, but it's harder to hear. "
I had this problem at around 5,000 miles and the dealer fixed it (replaced the "Purge Control Solenoid Valve" and the ticking went away.) And the ticking started up again (16,000 miles). I'm taking my car in next week to get this remedied.

LOL oohhh man....dude if u were here along time ago....u would have known what we were talking abt. Someone find that old thread....I need a good laugh Sorry Amir no offense buddy...we have to do it
I have a 97 3.0 Cl and having the same clicking noise. It's coming from the drivers side engine area. Very hard to pinpoint, only does it when engine is warm. Doesn't seem to increase with acceleration though. Looks like a nice trip to the acura dealer in the near future.
