Rumor has it that the RSX is gone after this year (2006 MY)... The RSX isn't a coupe in my mind, it's a hatchback.

The NSX is gone (MY 2005 was the last year) and a NSX replacement isn't due to be out for a couple of years (2008-2010 depending on what rumor you believe)....

There's been rumors about a CLS replacement since the CLS was discontinued back in June/July 2003. That's right, almost 3 years, and no CLS replacement.

With the CL gone, the NSX gone, and the RSX going.... One would think that Acura would come up with a coupe to slot into their lineup. It's got a big whole there in the lineup, and coupe owners and buyers like myself are going to have to look elsewhere if Acura doesn't come up with a coupe eventually.

With the Sports4, XGA rumors and the rumors of the NSX being offered w/ a V10 and also a lower priced sub-nsx model being talked about, it seems that a coupe of some sort will eventually be offered...

We already see the coupes that BMW & Infiniti are bringing out next year and they look great IMO. I know the Lexus IS coupe is due out too but I haven't seen pictures of it. (and it won't have a MT with the 6 cyl I hear, too bad.)

Maybe Acura is waiting for the competition to show their hand before they unveil theirs? I'm worried Acura is not planning any new coupe anytime soon, you usually hear something. It's a given the other companies will have coupes, why is Acura keeping everyone guessing, they are losing potential sales by saying nothing. Maybe they are embarassed how the CLS kinda tanked.
Surely they don't want us loyal coupe buyers to go elsewhere, or do they care??
I don't get it.

 

i can tell you acura is DEF planning something.

honda motors is notorious for being extremely secretive with their development.

 

I don't get it either... It's almost as if they are taking the stance that we'll buy the accord ex v6 6MT without looking at the competition...

I saw this same pic about 2 yrs. ago I guess HONDA/ACURA is teasin' us but theres rumors that ACURA is comin' with a sport/luxury coupe in 2008-09 maybe a cl-s/ nsx/ rsx. all together. ummm I wanna see this model. PLEASE BRING BACK THE NEXT GEN. CLS!!!!!!!!!

I really don't think Acura will make another sport coupe. Honda has one in the Accord. It has 99% of the features & power the CLS did. They got burned once. Beside coupes don't sell well. That's a fact. They have a hit in the TL, why should Acura invest more $$?
If they ever do, I'm sure it will be expensive cause all the other coupes are expensive.
The CLS high point was it's price. You got so much car for what most people paid for it. That's also why resale/trade in sucks.

That pic looks like a NSX replacement with those body lines.

 

Guys, the pic of the CLX is the concept vehicle for the 1st gen CL (circa 1995). It's over 10 years old...
