CL vs TL steering

CL vs TL steering
Sorry if this has been discussed before but....
i have an 01 cl-s, and i've noticed that my mom's 03 TL's steering seems to be looser and more responsive. Should there be a big difference or do i need to get my steering checked out?
P.S. by steering i mean the CL has more resistance when you turn a corner than the TL

I think they just tried to make the CL feel sportier by giving it a stiffer steering. Her's being more precise might be the 01 vs 03 difference. Bushings get worn out a little, things settle and loosen up a little.
Personally, I don't worry about powersteering unless there is noise coming out of it. My jeep's power steering is kinda shot, by turning left and right alot, (while the car is in motion or not) you'll eventually feel like you hit the limit and no more powersteering..
I don't know exactly how stiff, or loose your steering is, but from your description it doesn't seem to be requiring maintenance.

Does she have a TL-P? ... The steering on the TL-S is different than the TL-P model.
The TL-P has speed sensitive steering while the TL-S has torque sensing steering.
The steering ratio on the TL-P is 16.1:1 (3.11 turns lock to lock) while the ratio on the TL Type S's is 15.9:1 (2.93 turns lock to lock) ..
The specs on the CL according to Hondanews.com is kind of strange. The 2001 CLs get torque sensing steering regardless of whether its a CL-P or CL-S. The 2002-2003 CLs get speed sensitive steering.
The steering ratio on the CL Type S is 16.1:1 (2.88 turns lock to lock) versus 15.8:1 for the CL-P (3.06 turns lock to lock). Which doesn't change throughout the years...
I'm curious to know if the 2001 CLs have torque sensitive steering while the 2002-2003s have speed sensitive steering or if its just a misprint.
If its true that the 2001 CLs have a torque sensing steering and your mom has a TL-P with speed-sensitive steering then that would explain the difference.
In any case, usually the lower your steering ratio, the more sensitive the steering is. A lower steering ratio is usually preferred for sportier cars and torque sensing is usually preferred over speed sensitive steering for sportier cars.
I'm not 100% sure if this is correct but I believe In a torque sensing system, the steering varies based on the amount of torque being applied to each wheel (while you are turning, kind of like how a torque sensing limited slip differential works).
On a speed sensitive system, the steering becomes less sensitive the faster you go.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong here because I couldn't find a good explanation on the Internet for the differences here.
Hope this helps though! Both cars are very similar in many ways, but steering seems to be one of the differences between the cars.

So if you have a NAVI CL-S and I have a NAVI TL-S, your car weighs 29 lbs less. Of course, if I weigh 100 lbs less than you ... then overall my car would weigh less than yours.
In theory, the CL-S is faster, in practice they're about the same.
