The CL Type S is UNSAFE!
I thought that would get your attention!
Yep. I travel a lot, and when I get in a rental car and try to merge into traffic, I forget I'm not in my S. Just about got run over twice in Jersey this week!

Chrisbert, I'm with you. I love my car. I was a bit perturbed yesterday when a motorcycle came on white line between me and next car at a stop light. Well, I smoked him off the line so he couldn't go ahead and he then hit it hard as I then backed off letting him catch up. Glad you appreciate your CL-S so much!

What's so bad about the message? Its very easy to become accustomed to the 260 HP and the tiptronic and the ability to fly ahead of other cars or aim for that specific hole in a line of traffic. I've been in other cars, like my 190 HP VW, and forgotten that it was not the CL-S and pulled out or tried to merge with traffic and either had to abort or had a close call, because I failed to adjust for the difference in forward propulsion!
It happens. But what's really sweet is when you go back to the CL-S after driving a slower car, you feel like you're in a pocket rocket.

Let me explain this further for the humour-challenged:
1. I like my CL-S!
2. I have nothing against New Jersey
3. My point was that after getting used to the power of my CL-S, that I need to be careful when I get into a POS rental car.

I hear you Chrisbert. Used my ladys Explorer today to get some fence wood. It has been OK so far, hauling, towing, etc., but I felt uncomfortable turning, braking, advoiding numbskulls, all those normal driving experiences that the "S" does with ease. Even w/Avon six ply tires it felt squirrly and cumbersome in comparason.

Chris,
I "get it." But I do agree that your post probably should go in "Ramblings." Given how paranoid a lot of us are about our "Warped Rotors,"(and just because you're paranoid doesn't mean some bad s@#t still isn't going to happen), a topic name like yours could give some of us geezers heart attacks!
BTW, the best part of driving in NJ, is the Nathan's Hot Dog stands... :p

Incidentally, for those who have never seen any part of Jersey except for Newark...you must see it. Man, it is beautiful! Shame that most folks opinions (including formerly mine) are based on what they see when they land in Newark and drive to Manhattan.
