CL Sighting - Midtown Atlanta

Spotted a black 1st generation CL in mid town this morning. It was at the corner of West Peachtree by the Brugers Bagles and Starbucks. Had some sweet rims too!!! I'm pretty sure he spotted me too. You out there??

Were you a silver CL with tints and clears pulling out of Einstein's? The clears and colored turn signals tipped me off and I was wondering if that was a fellow board member. I was at that corner around 7:50 ish.

Good spot.

That was me bro!!! I don't have clears, but tint and PIAA road lamps I do have!! I thought I saw you looking but I couldn't tell through the tint. I turned my lights on to try and get your attention but didn't want to be an ass.

I've never actually had this work before!!! Spottings are cool!!!

I think I've asked you this before, but do you work in midtown? I can't remember if you told me you live down here or not??

Yea, I live right up the street on 14th b/e peachtree and piedmont. I was on my usually late trip to work in dunwoody. You should have made it out to the meet last week, it was fun to meet all these heads.

On a random note, I just came back from Ed Voyles Acura, where I found out that one of their dealers is a member here and has a comptech'd out white CL. I think the guy said his name was rpdealer or something. I also test drove the 6 speed for fun, very nice.

I really wanted to go.....and was planning on it. I Zainoed the ride and everything Friday night. But something came up where I couldn't meet everyone at the AMC. So I asked for directions to the lake late on Saturday, but no one ever replied. No problem though, I'll be at the next one.

Do you know of any other dealers in the atlanta area that do comptech work? i'm wondering if that Ed Voyles does? I got quotes from Acura Carland in Duluth to do the comptech springs and they wanted 490 just for the install!!!!! And like 365 for the springs!!! :sqnteek: :thumbsdn: :thumbsdn:

What were you doing in this pic? Was it some sort of race? or Autox? I really want to go to a drag strip one time. I've never done it, but want to try. Just to be able to go fast and not have to wory about getting a ticket. But I don't know where any are.

I got mine Springs and Sway bars installation done at Nalley for $450 (take a look at this thread: http://www.acura-cl.com/forums/showt...threadid=39619 )

I believe Carland also installs Comptech stuff, but more than $450 if I recall correctly. They had a test drive car with Comptech header installed. My sales guy also said they will sell their Acuras (CLs, specfically) with Comptech components pre-installed at a special price (that was back in Jan 2001)

No doubt.....I sure wish there was a PAA around here!!!! I would have done all this stuff a long time ago if I were closer to them. I wonder how long of a drive it is to NJ from the ATL??

Carland also sells brand new cars with Comptech parts. I looked at a TL and the sticker said the "comptech package" which I think just included the springs was $1500 extra!!!!

I took that pic of AtlCL, he was AutOx'ing...lol and Eugene don't worry I won't mention anything about that Daewoo getting a better time than you after he took out his rear seat :P One thing I will say about Carland Acura, they hooked me up with a CL-S loaner car for my 30k service...that was pretty nice. Plus their price for the 30k service was much cheaper than Nalley or Ed Voyles

Yea I was autoX, it was my first time. I wasn't the worst car though, so ha. I know Ed Voyles does Comptech work, but every dealer will be pricey (except PAA), no choice there. Got my oil changed and free car wash, plus they drove me to/from work. Some of the aftermarket shops will be much cheaper for install such as mahdavi and engineered performance; those are better bets for you. Of course the dealer will give you a warranty, but do you really need a warranty on springs and shocks (which come with a warranty)?

The Comptech package also includes koni yellow shocks, I know cause when I was looking for a GSR they offered me that package.

The drive to south NJ from Atlanta would only be about 10-12 hours depending on driving speed. I have made the drive from nyc in slighlty under 12 hours, but that was under extreme driving and a knicks playoff game that started at 6pm that I had to watch.

Sorry to change the subject but have you guys got your 30k service done? I need to get mine done and haven't had a chance to check out prices. I usually go to Ed Voyles to get my service done, but is Carland or Nalley any cheaper? Reading what others have said, it looks like the price can vary greatly from dealer to dealer.

I just got my 30k service done last week. Ed Voyles was the cheapest at 269.95. Nalley was 380, Baranco was 340. By the way I live in midtown too, but moving soon to lenox park.
