CL-S vs M3
CL-S vs M3
I was on my way to lunch and i see this M3 (old model, not the 333 hp one) getting on the freeway. He had exhaust, body kit, and a nice set of wheels. I pull up next to him and he starts smiling. I never raced and M3, i was expecting to get smoked really bad. Soon as I heard his exhaust vibrating i floored it. We were dead even during my second gear. When my car shifted to third i lost like 1/2 car length, but i pulled next to him at like 6000 rpm and slowly started gaining on him. I cut off at like 120 because i could see traffic building up ahead. When i looked back he was right behind me. After that i was really pumped and shaking with adrenaline LOL. Are we supposed to beat M3's??? Maybe he was a bad driver?
How many horsepower do the old m3's have?

the autos are rated at like 7.1 or something like that
the 6 speed G35 coupe is 5.5 rated anthe auto is around 6.2
the older m3 is 5.5 0-60 and low 14s 1/4 mile.
so it would definately be a drivers race against a 6 speed cls... auto would have to be heavily modded.

These are all close enough that it would be a driver's race...especially someone behind the wheel of a manual. Our beloved auto CLS needs H/I to be competitive.

As I've said in previous racing threads, if the cars are within .5 secs of eachother . . . it comes down to the driver. Also, another big factor is how well the cars are maintained. So posted results are just guidelines and not a guarantee that the technically faster car will win.

wow, ok thats a little out of budget what about with just headers exhaust, and intercooler ( btw do u really need an intercooler or will it any significant increase if u dont got supercharger or turbo) or without intercooler ? and how much HP would that give u ?
Thanks heh,
Julio

I/H/E = Intake / Headers / Exhaust... i guess are the standard basic bolt ons.
Intake/Exhaust would give it a couple of horsies...headers would be the best investment..headers alone i've seen 20+hp..best bang for your buck..everytime i tell my friends headers for our cl-s would give 20+hp they would just think im bullshitting..i was amazed too when i first got my cls....
to sum it up.. I/H/E= 25-30ish+ hp to the wheels? someone correct me if im wrong b/c i don't have headers YET..soon to come though.
ohyeah a little off the topic here..SOMEONE PLEASSSSSSE! let me test drive your 5spd Comptech supercharged CLS i wanna feel how it kicks! i need motivation to save up money and pick a SC'er up! PLEASE?!

The CL-S can take an E36 with a good driver.
They are normally a good race
